Mini Miura Card Fold

When I saw Valery's challenge this time over at

Butterfly Challenge

her card fold was called a Mini Miura.

I had never heard of it so had to have a go.

Valery gives all the measurements and instructions

on her blog so be sure and pop over.

I followed the instructions and made a video tutorial

for my VIP Group.

Struggled here and there lol but got there in the end.

 

For my card I have used

We are off this afternoon with our son to do some

house viewings.

He and his wife are looking to move closer

to home, which is brilliant!

We will have all our children close to us again!

One living at home, one next door, another 5 mins away

and now Milo, hopefully about 5 mins away too!

Think I never cut my apron strings 😂

ATC 1

So I got some new craft items from the upcoming catalogue

and decided I would like to make ATCs for each of

my stamp sets to give me some inspiration when needed.

I used to make ATCs many many years ago and

I came across a group on Facebook and

was inspired to have a go again.

My first one uses

Elegantly Said stamp set.

I inked up the background using seaside spray and

bumblebee inks. Squirted it with water and mopped off.

I then stamped the border top and bottom.

The flowers were then stamped and coloured

with daffodil delight and granny apple green blends.

I stamped the wee butterfly lookalikes.

Not sure if they are butterflies but they looked

like it to me lol.

I finished with a sentiment, which I stamped crooked

so had to restamp and cut round it.

I finished by running a black marker around the edges.

So there you have it, number one done!

perfect for Father's Day or change the sentiment

for Birthdays.

We got to sit out in garden yesterday afternoon

for my daughter's birthday,

even though it was blowing a gale at one point.

Sadly it got very cold so the second round was cancelled

but will hopefully be able to see them this evening.

 

 

Elegantly Said at Tag Tuesday

This is the second week of our theme

ANYTHING GOES

over at

Tag Tuesday.

This week I have used a new stamp set coming

in the new catalogue next week.

It is called Elegantly Said and comes as a bundle

with a gorgeous tag punch.

I have used the stamp set for this tag.

I inked up the tag using polished pink and

pale papaya (new in-colours).

I then stamped the large corner in memento

and the flowers along the bottom too.

I stamped the flowers again in pale papaya

and cut them out to 3d onto my tag.

The small butterfly is from the butterfly duet punch,

sadly retiring.

Today is my darling daughter Charlie's 28th Birthday!

I can't believe my baby is that age but am truly thankful

that she is still living at home with us.

We will hopefully have the family round in turns

today to have some coffee and cake.

Butterfly Sadness

Happy Monday!

What a gorgeous weekend that was!

We sat out on Saturday and had a friend call

to visit on Sunday who we haven't seen for well over a year.

We also had our Son next door and his lovely family round too.

Thank goodness for sunshine!!

My card today is a sad one.

It was made for a family whose daughter committed suicide

and she was only in her second year at university.

So so sad and shocking.

I have used soft lilacs, whites and a bit of black.

The sentiment did not photo well but it was very appropriate.

I added a couple of butterflies, die cut leaves and some pearls.

The background card has been lightly stamped with butterflies.

Geared Up Birthday Card

My VIP Customer tutorial today shows how

I created this background using scraps of paper

from the Brights pack of papers.

It's the first time I have tried this pattern

so lessons were learned along the way lol.

But I do love the bright papers against the black background.

Butterfly Gala Sympathy Card

I have the final card from my Sympathy series.

This one is very simple but very effective.

I used the Geared Up Garage stamp set to

create the background for my butterfly.

It has been stamped using coastal cabana ink.

The butterfly is from the Butterfly Gala set, sadly retiring this year

but at a greatly reduced price!

It was stamped in memento, punched out and coloured

using the ink and a wink of stella pen.

The sentiments were stamped in memento

and come from Back on your Feet stamp set.

I decided, after the card was made to add the top sentiment

from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.

The card base is in coastal cabana.

The designed was followed inside the card to finish it off.

Blue skies and sunshine today.

We got to meet up with our son for his birthday

and see our two Grandsons Sean and Tom.

They were full of chat, sharing everything we

have missed this past while, which was lovely 💓

Happy Monday!

Today I have another card from my Sympathy box.

I have kept this one more or less colourless

though there is a tiny hint of pink in the flower and buds.

The inside was stamped the same way and has an added sentiment.

Felt really tired, sick and groggy.

So I didn't get to meet up with Grandson Tom

but they did drop round to the house

and I went out and sang Happy Birthday to him.

Thankfully I am feeling much better today!

Acetate Box for Sympathy Cards

My VIP Video tutorial today shows how to decorate

one of the lovely acetate boxes

to fit 5 sympathy cards plus envelopes.

Perfect if you like to gift or sell packs of your cards.

It keeps them safe from dinged edges and mucky fingers

and you get 10 in a box!

To decorate it I have used a length of basic white card

and stamped using the Forever Fern stamp set

in basic grey.

I used the Good Morning Magnolia stamp set

for the front sentiment which was cut out

using the Nested Stitched Label dies in

basic grey card and basic white card.

I finished it all off with a little bow in

Pool Party Sparkle ribbon.

Our Grandson Tom's 6th birthday is tomorrow.

Forever Fern Sympathy Card

This is another one of the Sympathy cards following

the same sketch from Friday's post.

This time I have used the

Forever Fern Bundle along with

Gorgeous Grape card and ink pad

and Mint Macaron ink pad.

I used my score board to create the border

and the sentiment, from a retired set, has been stamped

onto one of the Rectangle Stitched dies.
