Sunflower & Roses

I had another play with my Lisa Horton supplies,
this time making a quick birthday card to gift to a customer.

I have used the Sunflower & Roses set.
The stencilling was done first using real read, granny apple green,
lemon lime twist, poppy parade and bumblebee inks (SU).
I then embossed it using the matching folder then die cut it.

For the card base I embossed half of it using my score board,
stamped the sentiment  and added faux stitching
in the opposite area.

Holiday season!

It's time for a new theme over at
and Sandie has chosen
Holidays/travel!

For my tag I have used a very old stamp set from
Whiff of Joy called fun in the sun.
The images were stamped then masked so I
could create a sandy background and some sea and clouds.
The images where then coloured with promarkers.
I used a LH stencil circle to create the sunshine
and some torn papers and cloud edges for the sea and sky.
The sentiment came from the same stamp set.

Hope you can join us this fortnight.

Camellia get well soon

I finally got time to play with my Lisa Horton
Camellia Cluster set.
You get the stencils, dies and embossing folder
and they are just a joy to play with and experiment with.

I kept to the pink colour for this one to start me off
but will be a bit more daring the next time lol.
I added some line embossing using my score board
instead of leaving the card flat.
The flower has been chopped so I could make it fit my card
fully and I added a stamped sentiment and some pearls
to the centre border.

Card and tag set

So, as I said yesterday, you get two of each card in the box
(see yesterdays post)
and the second one
was just lying looking at me all forlorn lol.
So I made up the card to look the same as the tag,
(Itty Bitty Christmas and From Our House to Yours stamp sets SU),
added some wrap around ribbon with a bow
and stamped the sentiment and laid it across the tree.
I even added an insert! Go me!!
They make a nice little pair I think.

Celebrate with a die cut!

It's the second week of Valerie's theme
use die cuts
over at TAG TUESDAY.

I found a box kit full of Christmas card packs which
I must have bought many many many years ago.
The name on them is Brenda Pinnick and I am sure
it was from QVC!!
You get two of each design so decided to chop one
and use for a tag.
The background has been stamped with snowflake stamp from
a stamp set called From Our House to Yours (SU).
The sentiment is from Itty Bitty Christmas (SU).
I inked up the edges, added the die cut tree and star
and finished with some ribbon, stapled in place!

Masculine Fun Fold

Pop Up Pillar card.

Side view.

Folds flat for posting.

Today, for my midway post at
STAMPING SENSATIONS
I have gone with a funfold birthday card for my son Milo.
He is very in to his cars so I have gone
with a car theme.

The papers I used are retired SU ones.
The stamp sets used are
Geared Up Garage  (SU) for the car and all the embellishments.
I used a Lisa Horton stamp set (Linen Texture)
for the sentiment.
I added chalk pen lines up the sides and
there is a verse on the back of the card!.
I used promarkers, silver gel pen and memento ink to colour
and alphabet dies from Helen Griffin for his name.

Took me ages lol but I do like to give a funfold
card to all my kids for their special days.

I hope you get to join us this month with your
masculine themed projects. Remember we have
a lovely prize up for grabs too!

May all your DRUMS.....

Another family birthday card,
this time for my brother Tony who love his drums.
Again I have followed the sketch over at
Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

I treated myself to some Paper Discovery sets a while ago
but have only played with the dies, not the stamps.
So out they came for Tony. They were bought with him in mind.
The stamp set is called Music Play On and I also used another
set from the same bundle called Play On Textures.
The base is white card, layered with Pear Pizzazz card (SU)
and an old card from my stash, (Brenda Pinnick).
Everything was stamped in memento.
I love the drum sentiment, perfect for Tony lol.
I used oval dies for the sentiment and I added
some black dots to make it stand out more.

Use a die cut!

Our new challenge theme at
has been chosen by the lovely Valerie who wants us to
use die cuts.

This was definitely a challenge for me
as I rarely use blank die cuts.
I had a hoke in my stash and found the bird cage
and bird from a really old kit.
The birdcage has been covered in metallic rub ons,
the bird has been coloured up using inks and brushes
then I attempted to add some detail with a marker, but what a mess!
The background of my tag has been stamped using
Whitewash Texture stamp from Lisa Horton.
The sentiments are also from a LH set called
Cracked Bark Texture.
I inked over the stamped area with my brush then
assembled as above. and finished with some bakers twine.

Pretty pleased with the finished look for a first timer lol.
Hope you can come and join us.

Graduation!

It's that time of the year again!
Brand new graduates with everything in front of them.

I had two cards to make recently and for this one
I have followed the sketch over at
Try Stampin' On Tuesday.

The papers and embellishments are all from Nitwits.
The image is an old Whiff of Joy stamp
coloured with promarkers.
The quote and sentiment are computer generated.

Include a pocket!

It's the second week of
'add a pocket'

This time I went with a square die cut, adding a
half square in matching paper to the bottom
to form a pocket.
I then stamped lots of little inspirational quotes
using a stamp set called Through it Together (SU).
I matted them onto card and added some gold twine.
I finished with a felt bow.

One for the boys!

Our June challenge theme at
is 'make it masculine'.

We have a great prize up for grabs so get your stamps out
and come and join us.

I made this card for a friend's birthday and he
is a big car lover (and motorbikes) so I decided to go with a
funfold card.
I saw a card online and decided to have a go making an a5 size.
The papers are from a pack called Best Route (SU).
The stamp sets used are
Driving By, Geared Up Garage (SU) and
Beautiful Anemone (LH).
I went with night of navy card, and ink
and used my promarkers and blends to colour.

First Holy Communion

I had a First Communion card order recently
and the Mummy wanted it to be pink and girlie!
This is what I came up with.
The papers are from my stash,
the image is from Alibel.
I punched lots of flowers and added pearls,
some crosses with pearls and a bigger flower
in the corner with the ribbon below.
I did follow a lovely sketch over at
