Gift Card Purse

My stash buster project today is these little
purse type gift card holders or cash,
whatever your preference.

My first one has been laminated then stitched
which was not easy as it made it very slippery
but I like the rough look 😂
This one is obviously for a birthday.
The flowers and leaves have been stamped and coloured
with markers using a set called Floral Essence.
The paper is from my stash and is from We R Memory Keepers.

My next one I didn't laminate and the stitching was much better
but I found the card took a bit of abuse when opening
the popper closure whereas the one that was laminated
opened very easily.
This was has been made for someone passing their
driving test.
I used a stamp set from We R Memory Keepers teen angst
called road trip.

This one was my practise one and I stupidly
added my popper closure before running it through
my sewing machine and the stitching was all over the show.
So I punched out some paper daisies, cut them in half
and stuck over the stitched area.
I stamped, punched and coloured the butterflies from
a set called Butterfly Gala and the papers are from my stash.
No name but they have gorgeous glittery leaves.
I think it might have come from Lidl.

You can watch my video tutorial here

  5. Another super idea Pinky. These little purses are really cute and ideal way to gift money. I like the idea of laminating the card even if it does make it hard to stitch- it makes it re-usable and my family are really into that! xx
