Our new challenge for April has started
over at
and the theme has been chosen by Brenda
and she wants to see
blossoms, butterflies and/or birds.
Plenty to go with there and you also have
the anything goes option.
For my tag I went with butterflies.
I used an old SU stamp set called
Butterfly Gala which has a matching punch.
I made my base tag in yellow
using my Tri-fold tag die.
I cut the mat in white using the next
die down and stamped it using a large
and small butterfly stamp.
I inked around the edges in blue.
I stamped and punched some extra
butterflies, coloured them with markers.
I used a scrap of the yellow for the
sentiment and stuck it across the tag.
I added the butterflies and a few
gems then finished with some bakers
twine in the matching colour.

I went with the bird theme for my ATC
and as always, I got out my inks and just
had fun making the background.
When dry I stamped the bird and music
using a stamp from AALL & Create called
Bird Collage #435.
I added white ink to the top and bottom
and stuck some bits of chicken wire,
white side facing up (SU).
I inked around the edges using a black marker
and finished with a black word which
I added white lines to with my white pen.
I did add some colour to the bird
using my markers.
I finished by splashing some white ink
over it all.

ReplyDeleteI love the different styles and techniques you've used on your tag and ATC resulting in very different looks. The fresh, clean design of the pretty tag and the grungier look of the ATC are both fantastic.

Your tag is so pretty with the zingy colours which pop so well against the black and white areas. Your ATC has such rich colours and the chicken wire is the perfect touch too.
ReplyDeleteVery much like how you have left the base stamping uncoloured and just coloured three of the Butterflies, very effective. A&C's Bird Collage looks gorgeous on the inky background of your ATC.
