Tree Books!

I made a little tree decoration for my Grandsons.
The two snowmen and the penguin images are from Dora
and the Santa is from Mo's Digital images.
They have all been coloured with markers.

I made the book using mirri card and inside
there are pages for the boys to write what
they want, what they get. They can also
add New Year wishes and then fill them in
again next year and see how much they have
matured over the year.
I ran the cover through my dotty embossing folder
and added the first letter of each of their names.
I also added some silver twine and a star bead
to hang on the tree and a clear clip
with a tree brad attached to hold it closed.

They only measure 2 1/2" x 2"
so should hang ok on their trees.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Tattered Lace folder and I added bubble frames
from a Lisa Horton die set.

Rough it up!

It's time for my midway post for our challenge over at
where the theme is add texture or anything goes.

For my Christmas tag I cut my base in white card
and then matted it with some woodgrain paper (SU)
which I had ran through my plank embossing folder, (SU),
and then wrapped some lace around it.
I then ran the tag through my sewing machine
for some extra texture.
Next I die cut two hearts using a Spellbinders
set. The small heart was ran through a
dotty embossing folder and I then swiped some
white ink on the raised dots.
The larger heart was embossed using a
snowflake stencil and crystal paste.
I then added some die cut snowflakes using
a Tutti die set and finished them with some
gems. The words were stamped and cut
and positioned in place.
I finished it off with some white tulle.

Next up is my ATC. Lots of texture going on here.
So I started of with some heavy brown paper
from a Basic Grey set.
I stencilled on some crystal paste to the base
and then used some marigold embossing powder
to the bottom half and heat embossed it.
I then wrapped some twine around it.
Next I cut the coffee cup from an old paper set (SU)
along with some coffee beans.
The sentiment and spoon were stamped using the
Latte Love stamp set (SU) and all
added to my ATC.

Piece of cake!

A quick card for a man and as I had no idea
what theme to go with I went birthday cake lol.
Not a stamp inside here.
Everything is from a download from Nitwits
called Po-cake masc.
I printed it out, cut and layered up various parts
and added a sentiment and his name.

Scenic bauble

Happy Monday.
I have another card for my very small Christmas collection.
Need to get my skates on for sure.

For this one I used the Vintage Bauble stencil/mask
and inside I used Village Vista and Winter Wishes stamp sets,
all from Card-io stamps.
I added silver stickles around the outside simply
because I got a bit of blue ink where I shouldn't have!
But I do like the effect.
I added a lot of highlights with my white pen
and the sky was inked up with my blending brushes.

Fluffy and soft!

I got this fluffy wool from B & M recently.
It was so so soft and I was dying to make
a wee blanket for my Granddaughter Aimee.

The wool was extremely hard to crochet with
so I got out my knitting needles and used them instead.
I did a deep band with the fluffy wool
then broke it up with a soft white wool.
Probably not the best idea but it worked out ok.

And thankfully it past the Aimee test 😂
She loves all things soft and cuddly.

Dentist went well with neither of us needing work
other than a clean and polish 😁

Rotten rainy day today. Had a quick nip out to Lidl

Centre Step Card

My one and only sister-in-law's 60th birthday
is coming this month and this is
the card I made.
I used papers from Craftwork Cards,
The stamped and die cut embellishments are
from an old SU set called Dressed to Impress.
I made the flowers using a die set called Paper Floristry (SU).
Sentiments are from Itty Bitty Birthdays
and I die cut the numbers a few times in fun foam
and paper.
I used a Tattered Lace die for the base of the card
and finished it off with a bow, flowers and gems.

We are off to the dentist today for a check up.
Fingers crossed neither of us needs anything done!

Let there be light!

I was searching through my craft room for something
entirely different but came across a drawer full of
tea light candles and decided to make some little
 boxes to hold one.
These will go to our local St. Vincent de Paul shop
and help me use up loads of paper!!!

It holds one of the small candles (Ikea).

I did a tutorial here if you fancy cutting into
some stash!

Measurements needed to make one
Base - 7 6/8" x 7 6/8"
Score on all four sides at
5/8", 1 1/4", 1 7/8", 2 4/8"
Belly Band - 2 3/4" + one wee notch x 8 1/4"

I used old paper scraps from SU, two daisy punches (SU),

and inside I stamped the snowmen and mice using
a set called Smiley & Sleepy.
For the house and lantern I used an old SU set
called From our House to yours.

Our new challenge has also started over at
and the optional theme is also Christmas.

Of course we have a lovely prize up for grabs
so be sure and join us.

For my card I pulled out some old papers from my stash
for the base. I wrapped some braid and silver ribbon
around it and stuck to my base.
The main image has been stamped using my
Biscuit Buddies stamp set from Card-io.
I masked off the snowman so I could stamp
some trees behind him onto my inked background.
I stamped the sentiment (Itty Bitty Christmas SU) above and added
lots of sparkle and some sequins to the background paper.

Add some texture!

It's time for a new theme over at
and this time it was my turn to challenge the ladies
and I want to see texture on their projects.

For my tag I used papers from Basicgrey in green
for my base. I used my trio punch for the shape.
I then cut a piece of designer paper from the same set
and ran it through an embossing folder to added
texture. I then added some white ink to the embossing
to make it stand out more.
This was attached to my base and I ran
it through my sewing machine.
Next I stamped and die cut the leaf using
some gold sparkle embossing powder and die.
You can just about see it in the photo.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment in
gold powder onto a piece of torn vellum.
The stamp set is called Gather Together (SU).
I added some eyelets to either side and laced
some hairy string through it to hold in place.
I finished with some gems in green
and some fibres at the top.
Still not satisfied, I flicked some white ink
over the whole tag.

(embossing folder, wet embossing, white ink, sewing machine, vellum, string,
fibres, metallic rub ons, eyelets)

Next up is my ATC.
I used a piece of linen card for the base
and ran some luster rub-ons across it in brown.
I tore a scrap of paper, same as above, to fit
over the top of the base.
I wrapped it with the same hairy string
and then stuck to my base.
I then die cut some leaves in vellum
using the Gather Together bundle (SU),
and again ran my finger over them with the rub-ons
to add some colour and show up the embossing.
These were stuck to opposite corners.
I punched some script into a circle
and again added the rub-ons.
You can imagine how messy my finger is now lol.
I layered up the sentiment from Hunkydory and
stuck in place.

Halloween card

As I had my Indigo Blu papers and stamps out
I decided to make a quick Halloween card.
The paper piece above was one I had ripped into
so rather than waste the leftovers I backed it onto some
orange card which I had stamped some little bats onto
using a set called Tricks & Treats (SU).
The paper  (the Creepsville Gazette) wasn't wide enough
for the full card size
so I covered the join with some black pompoms
and cut some black strips to create the striped border.
I then stamped the Spooky Grandpa, coloured him up
with markers and cut him out to add to the torn out area.
I stamped the wording on orange card and
added to the card.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Spooky makeover!

I was having a plunder in my box of notebooks
(yes I have an addiction lol),
and at the bottom I found this poor neglected one.
The cover was badly beaten but I had only written on
two pages!
So time for a wee makeover!

I used papers from Indigo Blu called The Creepsville Gazette.
I covered the back and front with it and for the spine
I added a piece of lace from my stash which
I ran my ink blender brush over to age a bit.
I stamped the image from an Indigo Blu set called
Spooky Grandpa, perfect for Halloween lol.
The sentiment comes with the set as well.
I even covered the elastic to match.

Spine.

Back.

On the inside covers I added some old dictionary
pages which I inked up then added a leftover strip
from the same paper pack.

This photo was a bit over exposed but it is as dark
as the back inside cover.
So I have a nice Halloween themed book to use now.
