Let there be light!

I was searching through my craft room for something
entirely different but came across a drawer full of
tea light candles and decided to make some little
 boxes to hold one.
These will go to our local St. Vincent de Paul shop
and help me use up loads of paper!!!

It holds one of the small candles (Ikea).

I did a tutorial here if you fancy cutting into
some stash!

Measurements needed to make one
Base - 7 6/8" x 7 6/8"
Score on all four sides at
5/8", 1 1/4", 1 7/8", 2 4/8"
Belly Band - 2 3/4" + one wee notch x 8 1/4"

I used old paper scraps from SU, two daisy punches (SU),
card candi,  and red ink from my blending brush.

Snow business!

It' time for our new challenge over at
and the optional theme is Christmas!

We do have a lovely prize up for grabs so
be sure and get your entries in.

For my card I used a snowman mask from Card-io Stamps
and inside I stamped the snowmen and mice using
a set called Smiley & Sleepy.
For the house and lantern I used an old SU set
called From our House to yours.
The sentiment is from an SU set called Itty Bitty Christmas.
I inked up different layers using torn paper
for the snow. I finished it off with some
glamour dust for sparkle.

Our new challenge has also started over at
and the optional theme is also Christmas.

Of course we have a lovely prize up for grabs
so be sure and join us.

For my card I pulled out some old papers from my stash
for the base. I wrapped some braid and silver ribbon
around it and stuck to my base.
The main image has been stamped using my
Biscuit Buddies stamp set from Card-io.
I masked off the snowman so I could stamp
some trees behind him onto my inked background.
I stamped the sentiment (Itty Bitty Christmas SU) above and added
lots of sparkle and some sequins to the background paper.

Hope you can join us in both challenges!!

Add some texture!

It's time for a new theme over at
and this time it was my turn to challenge the ladies
and I want to see texture on their projects.

For my tag I used papers from Basicgrey in green
for my base. I used my trio punch for the shape.
I then cut a piece of designer paper from the same set
and ran it through an embossing folder to added
texture. I then added some white ink to the embossing
to make it stand out more.
This was attached to my base and I ran
it through my sewing machine.
Next I stamped and die cut the leaf using
some gold sparkle embossing powder and die.
You can just about see it in the photo.
I stamped and embossed the sentiment in
gold powder onto a piece of torn vellum.
The stamp set is called Gather Together (SU).
I added some eyelets to either side and laced
some hairy string through it to hold in place.
I finished with some gems in green
and some fibres at the top.
Still not satisfied, I flicked some white ink
over the whole tag.

fibres, metallic rub ons, eyelets)

Next up is my ATC.
I used a piece of linen card for the base
and ran some luster rub-ons across it in brown.
I tore a scrap of paper, same as above, to fit
over the top of the base.
I wrapped it with the same hairy string
and then stuck to my base.
I then die cut some leaves in vellum
using the Gather Together bundle (SU),
and again ran my finger over them with the rub-ons
to add some colour and show up the embossing.
These were stuck to opposite corners.
I punched some script into a circle
and again added the rub-ons.
You can imagine how messy my finger is now lol.
I layered up the sentiment from Hunkydory and
stuck in place.

I made another little inspiration book for another few sets
of Card-io Stamps.
I used Smiley & Sleepy for the images and
Winter Wishes 3 for the sentiments.
I did do a tutorial on how I made the book
for my images which you can watch here

Halloween card

As I had my Indigo Blu papers and stamps out
I decided to make a quick Halloween card.
The paper piece above was one I had ripped into
so rather than waste the leftovers I backed it onto some
orange card which I had stamped some little bats onto
using a set called Tricks & Treats (SU).
The paper  (the Creepsville Gazette) wasn't wide enough
for the full card size
so I covered the join with some black pompoms
and cut some black strips to create the striped border.
I then stamped the Spooky Grandpa, coloured him up
with markers and cut him out to add to the torn out area.
I stamped the wording on orange card and
added to the card.

Spooky makeover!

I was having a plunder in my box of notebooks
(yes I have an addiction lol),
and at the bottom I found this poor neglected one.
The cover was badly beaten but I had only written on
two pages!
So time for a wee makeover!

I used papers from Indigo Blu called The Creepsville Gazette.
I covered the back and front with it and for the spine
I added a piece of lace from my stash which
I ran my ink blender brush over to age a bit.
I stamped the image from an Indigo Blu set called
Spooky Grandpa, perfect for Halloween lol.
The sentiment comes with the set as well.
I even covered the elastic to match.

Spine.

Back.

On the inside covers I added some old dictionary
pages which I inked up then added a leftover strip
from the same paper pack.

This photo was a bit over exposed but it is as dark
as the back inside cover.
So I have a nice Halloween themed book to use now.

Pretty Gift Box tutorial

I made this box recently for my Mother-in-law's birthday.
It was filled with her favourite chocolates.

I used mirri card for the bottom and papers from an old stack
from We R Memory keepers for the lid.
I had some nice blue ribbon which made a lovely big bow.
I cut out a die shape and stamped the sentiment and name
using Happy Birthday to You and Alphabest stamp sets (SU).
I cut some birds from the leftover papers to decorate.

As I haven't done a box tutorial for ages I decided
to give the old grey matter a shake and do one!

I did make it smaller than my first one but you can make this box
any size you want and the design will work.

For this one I used papers from Paper Discovery and some
co-ordinating card for the base from my stash.
It was decorated using punched flowers and leaves.
The sentiment was stamped using Itty Bitty Birthdays (SU)
and finished with some gems.

You can watch my tutorial here

Measurements needed to make this size
Paper - 5 3/4" x 8 1/4"
Card - 5 3/4" x 8 1/4"
Score all sides on both at 1 3/4"

Double Post

It's time for my midway post for our challenge over at
where the theme is Autumn or anything goes.

We have a great prize up for grabs so come and join us.
Our prize this month is a £25 store voucher from Personal Impressions

For my card I kept is pretty clean and simple.
I used a stamp set called Gather Together (SU)
and stamped and masked to create my pumpkin scene.
Everything has been coloured with markers.
I matted it onto a scrap of wood plank paper (SU)
and added some rustic gems to the corners.
The sentiment is from the same set.

It's also time for my midway post over at
where the theme is anything Autumn/anything goes.

The prize over here is also amazing so well
worth your time to get an entry in.

For my card I just went crazy attempting to make a scene.
Looking at it now my moon looks like it fell
from the sky 😂
The stamp sets I used are called
Stylish Sketches and Mountain Air (SU).
I used a scrap of paper top and bottom, probably SU,
then added string and handwrote the sentiment
in white pen.
The background was inked using distress inks.
The fox and leaves were coloured with markers.
It was good fun to make and obviously
a learning curve lol.

Needle felted pumpkins

I was very tempted to buy some pumpkin decorations for my hall
for Autumn. There are so many variations and sizes out there,
lovely colours and patterns.
Then my sensible head kicked in and I got out my needle felting wool
and had a go myself.
I made three different sizes in a wool that has a mix
of orange, yellow and deep pink running through it.
The wool is from World of Wool.
The colours didn't pick up well in my photo but
I am well pleased with them.

Autumn fun!

It's time for my midway post for our
Autumn challenge theme over at

For this one I used some background paper
from a set I bought years ago from Lidl would you believe!
It is gorgeous papers, partly embossed and sparkled.
So I ran it through my printer with this gorgeous image
from Mo's Digital Designs and printed the sentiment,
dog and leaves.
I then stamped the little dog out on my colouring
card so I could add colour with my markers.
I then cut him out and stuck him on top
of printed area.
I added some colour to the leaves and
finished the tag with some ribbon and a
cute bone brad from my stash.

For my ATC I just used some scraps from my stash.
I cut my base in deep purple and
ran it through my embossing folder.
I then cut the scraps to fit with
a little hint of gold mirri here in there.
I only had a tiny little big left.
I then stamped and gold embossed the
dragonfly from Dragonfly Garden (SU),
punched it out and stuck in place.
I edged it all in black and added
a black word (Hunkydory).

Wedding card and album

Happy Monday!

My Son and Daughter-in-law's good friends were
married in Italy in September and
Milo wanted me to make something nice to give them.

So I went with a cute little tag album using a set
of dies from Alinacutle. You can buy it on Amazon.
I have linked her YouTube channel on my video.
The papers are from a pack called Garden Blooms from
Anna Marie Designs.
I filled the album with photos from the wedding and
some from their earlier days together as a family.
This is a view of the inside and the back of the tag album.
Inside there are lots of wedding themed quotes etc.

I used flowers, ribbon and tulle from my stash.

You can see the full album here
