Faux postage stamps

With the little bit of leftovers I decided to make
some faux postage stamps to help
decorate my Traveller's Notebook.

Not much to work with but perfect sizes for
1 1/4" x 2" and  1" X 1".

I punched the large ones with an SU punch and the square
ones with a square die.
I set about stamping bits and pieces here and there
using stamps from Studiolight grunge and
some IndigoBlu and some SU.
I cut up any birds I could from the papers
and added them to the stamps.
I added some faux stitching around each one.
The rest of the leftovers were made into
two mini books, some punched candi dots
and very small butterflies.
That little pile on the right is what I have
left but I won't be binning them!

Birthday boy!

This card has been made for my Son Deaglan's birthday
which is on the 21st of this month.

I have used papers from We R Memory Keepers,
stamps from Beyond Stamping #5
and IndigoBlu Magazine
colour with markers and the fancy
interactive (peep hole/kaleidscope) inside is from a tutorial from
Emilia Sieradzan on Facebook.
I used oval dies and circle punches.

I put a  photo of him inside the little peep hole
which reveals when fully opened.

Spring Flowers!

I have been missing in action for what seems like ages
but I have been sick as a parrot.
First I got a V & D virus.
That floored me for a couple of days.
Then I got a head cold immediately after
and it has since become a sinus infection.
I am worn out completely.
Finally got an antibiotic yesterday
and don't start me on the hurdles
I had to jump to get speaking to
a doctor. Seriously!!
But hopefully I will be on the mend
by Monday and play a bit of catch up.

It's time for my midway post for our
Spring Flowers/anything goes at

For my tag I  punched out a plain piece of card
with my Best Trio Punch (SU) and rounded
the bottom corners too.
I then inked the background in blue ink.
Next I used an old SU stencil to add some
 crystal paste to two corners.
I then stamped the other two corners using
a stamp set from Visible Image called
Grunge Tones in yellow.
I stamped, coloured and die cut the flowers
and teapot using a set called Country Flowers (SU).
Before sticking in place I stamped the small
flowers in black.
I finished with a ribbon.

For my ATC I used two stamp sets called
Timeless Tulips and Fable Friends.

I created the background by mixing inks
from IndigoBlu and Distress inks.
I brushed some gold ink around the edges
and then stamped, coloured and cut the tulips
using markers.
I stuck them in place then splattered some
white ink over the top.
I stamped and cut the sentiment
and placed over the flowers.

Tag-along with us

It's time for a midway post over at
where the theme is red and green/anything goes.
And remember you can now enter with a tag,
an ATC or a bookmark!!

For my tag I started with a white background,
punched for the tag shape using my trio punch.
I then played around with my green and red inks,
spritzing with water and allowing it to
get it's groove on lol.
When dry, I dipped the lid of my wink of stella pen
into white ink and added the circles to the bottom
of the tag.
I then flicked some gold and white ink over the
whole tag. I die cut the snowflake (Tutti Designs)
and added to the centre and decorated with
a large red pearl.
I stamped the sentiment (SU) and added  to
the tag and then went in with some red
enamel effects for more texture.
I inked around the edge of the tag in green
and finished with some red and green ribbon
through the eyelet.

For my ATC I started with a white background
to which I added red and green ink and spritzed
with water and allowed to dry.
I then went in with a stencil (SU) and added
some Tim Holtz crystal paste.
I then used a stamp/die set called  Dashing Deer
and die cut the reindeer in kraft card.
I stamped the little flower over the top of
him and added a tiny dot of enamel effects in red.
I added him to my ATC
and then drew around him in black to make him pop.
I finished with a sticker sentiment.

I hope you get time to join us as we have a lovely
prize up for grabs!!

Penguin wallet

I am really blasting through my gift boxes/wallets etc.
This one is for my eldest Grandson Oliver
and will hold a voucher to his favourite sportswear shop.
It's so much easier when they want to
choose their own clothes lol.

I made it from white card and decorated up using
some old papers from SU called Plaid Tidings.
The closure was badly cut using Basic Dies (SU)
and the wrap has been embossed using an old
Tattered Lace folder.
I punched a circle with matching card
then stamped using an Indigo Blu stamp
called Christmas Word Block in cherry cobbler ink.
This was punched out and layered onto the belly band.
I then added a large O for his name.
To finish off I stamped, punched and dressed
the wee penguin using Penguin Place (SU)
and stuck in place.

I have another two like this to make for
two more Grandsons.

It's bitter cold here today and my Grandson is
in a cross country race wearing a vest and shorts!
Oh to be young lol.
Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Halloween card

As I had my Indigo Blu papers and stamps out
I decided to make a quick Halloween card.
The paper piece above was one I had ripped into
so rather than waste the leftovers I backed it onto some
orange card which I had stamped some little bats onto
using a set called Tricks & Treats (SU).
The paper  (the Creepsville Gazette) wasn't wide enough
for the full card size
so I covered the join with some black pompoms
and cut some black strips to create the striped border.
I then stamped the Spooky Grandpa, coloured him up
with markers and cut him out to add to the torn out area.
I stamped the wording on orange card and
added to the card.

Spooky makeover!

I was having a plunder in my box of notebooks
(yes I have an addiction lol),
and at the bottom I found this poor neglected one.
The cover was badly beaten but I had only written on
two pages!
So time for a wee makeover!

I used papers from Indigo Blu called The Creepsville Gazette.
I covered the back and front with it and for the spine
I added a piece of lace from my stash which
I ran my ink blender brush over to age a bit.
I stamped the image from an Indigo Blu set called
Spooky Grandpa, perfect for Halloween lol.
The sentiment comes with the set as well.
I even covered the elastic to match.

Spine.

Back.

On the inside covers I added some old dictionary
pages which I inked up then added a leftover strip
from the same paper pack.

This photo was a bit over exposed but it is as dark
as the back inside cover.
So I have a nice Halloween themed book to use now.

Faces at Tag Tuesday

Our challenge this fortnight over at
has the theme of FACES
chosen by the lovely Michele!

I had a hunt through some older stamps
and found this one in a pack I got free with a magazine
a few years back. It is from Indigo Blu.
I stamped her up in memento then added some
colour with my markers.
The background was inked up using
daffodil delight ink and finished with
a black edge.
I stamped the wording in memento
and coloured with my markers then added
to my tag.
I finished with some black ribbon.

A bit more Steampunk!

It's the second week of Sandie's theme
Steampunk
over at

I got my Garage Gears dies out again
and also used a stamp set from Indigoblu,
free with a magazine a long time ago.
The cogs were cut in cinnamon cider card
and all the sentiments were stamped in
I finished off everything by inking up around the edges
and filling the centre with some pacific blue ink.
Lastly I covered everything in the gold rub ons.
Of course I had to add a little bit of
