Lollypops!

I'm using up more items from my stash this week
and these will fit nicely into my folios
when decorating them up.

I used half a lollypop stick for each.
They were inked up with distress oxide
and then I stamped some text over that
using Gorgeously Made stamp set (SU).

The tops have been decorated using
lace, fabric, raffia etc from my scrap drawer.
I added a butterfly (Aall & Create) to the front
and stamped some words for the backs
using Contact USA alphabet stamps.
I finished them with some gems.

You can watch the process here

Favourite colours

It's time for our July challenge over at
Brenda has given us the theme of
favourite colours or you can work with
anything goes.

I usually love to work with pink and black
so that's what I went with today.
For the background I started with some distress oxide
in pink then I stencilled over that using
Simon Hurley Stella Paste in black.
That stuff is lethal and so runny!
The stencil is an old one from SU.
I then stamped the flowers on
white card in pink ink then cut them
out. The stamp set is called
Flourishing Phrases (SU).
I coloured the inner flower in black
then added to the card chopping off the access.
I finished with some pearlised enamel dots in white
and I outlined the flowers in black
to make them pop more.
The sticker sentiments were added
along with some pink and black ribbon.

As I was already in a mess I used the same
products for my ATC.
I used the pink oxide for the background,
stamped some text using Gorgeous Made stamp set (SU)
then stencilled with the stella paste here and there.
I stamped another flower using
Flourishing Phrases and finished as above.
I added some white pearlised enamel dots
and finished with a sticker sentiment
and edged it all in black.

Text me!

It's time for our June challenge over at
and this time Lynn has set us the theme of
add text/anything goes.

For my tag I started with a background
made using my gel plate and acrylic paints
in blue and yellow.
I used a small flower stamp to create
a pattern.
I cut my tag shape using  the Best Trio Punch (SU)
and using Gorgeously Made text stamp (SU)
I added text along the right hand side of my tag.
Next, using HOTP feather stamp,
I stamped the feather twice and
embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Next I used the matching stencil and
stencilled the feather using TH sparkle
embossing paste.
I matted it onto some blue paper and
stamped the sentiment from the same set,
ripped the edges and added to my tag.
I finished with some pearlised enamel dots
and a mix of gold ribbon and string.

Here's a close up of my feather
showing how sparkly it is using the
TH embossing paste.

For my ATC I was inspired by one this one I saw on
Pinterest.

The background was made on my gel plate.
I cut my size and added some faint text using my
Gorgeously Made (SU) text stamp.
I then punched some circles in different
sizes and inked them up in different colours.
I stamped some text over the top using a
Visible Image set called background vision.
I inked around their edges and then stuck
in place.
I finished with a word sticker.

In the pink!

It's time for our May challenge over at
TAG-ALONG (and ATC's)
where I have chosen the theme of PINK.
You can add a little or a lot, up to you,
OR you can go with the anything goes option.

For my tag I made the background on my gelli plate
using a mix of acrylic paints in pink and white.
I laid a piece of lace over the paint
to get the nice soft texture.
Next I stamped some text along one side using
Gorgeously Made stamps (SU)
and stencilled some dots with
TH embossing paste on the other side.
I stamped some flowers in pink from
Painted Seasons (SU) and arranged them
at the bottom of my tag.
I punched some butterflies out of the
waste paper from the gelli plate and
positioned them around the sentiment
from Framed Florets stamps (SU).
I finished by added some pearlised enamel
dots in red and added some lace
tied with ribbon to the top.

For my ATC I used the gelli plate again
with a piece of old lace material and
pink and white acrylic paint.

I added more petals to the flowers using
the pink paint and a brush
and then embellished with some colour
using acrylic markers.
I finished with some faux stitching,
pearlised enamel dots and a
sentiment.

Faux postage stamps

With the little bit of leftovers I decided to make
some faux postage stamps to help
decorate my Traveller's Notebook.

Not much to work with but perfect sizes for
1 1/4" x 2" and  1" X 1".

I punched the large ones with an SU punch and the square
ones with a square die.
I set about stamping bits and pieces here and there
using stamps from Studiolight grunge and
some IndigoBlu and some SU.
I cut up any birds I could from the papers
and added them to the stamps.
I added some faux stitching around each one.
The rest of the leftovers were made into
two mini books, some punched candi dots
and very small butterflies.
That little pile on the right is what I have
left but I won't be binning them!

Another traveller's notebook

I had this pack of slightly used papers that
I won from Brenda many years ago
and always felt it was too nice to open.
I eventually did make a few cards and a
mini album but still had lots left so
decided to make a Traveller's Notebook.

This is the back view.
I did lots of sewing on this TNB and I
do like the effect as well as the
fact it makes it much sturdier.

This is a view of the spine.
I was going to use an elastic closure
but changed my mind and filled the
hole with a brad.

You can watch a quick video walkthrough here.

Items used
Papers - Anna Marie Designs
Stamps - Studiolight grunge collection,
Alphabest, Gorgeously Made (SU),
Sewing machine and inks.

Things with wings

I sharing another tag and ATC for our midway challenge over at
where the option theme is things with wings.

For my tag base I started by covering it
in cosmic shimmer in candy pink.
I then used a stencil and some gesso
to add texture here and there.
When it was dry I stamped some text using
a stamp set called Gorgeously Made (SU).
Then I stamped some flowers from a set
called Flourishing Phrases and cut them out.
I inked up the background in various colours
of distress ink then spritzed with water and
removed some again.
The flowers were cut to fit the tag
and some pearls added to the centres.
Next came the dragonfly which was stamped, punched,
coloured and layered up.
The set is from SU called Dragonfly Garden.
I added some sentiments from an old Hunkydory book
and some sequins here and there.
It was finished with a piece of seam binding
which I coloured to match.
I definitely embraced the journey here lol
but totally enjoyed getting messy.

For my ATC I used some scrap paper cut to the size.
I stamped tree branch, leaves and music notes
directly onto my base. Then I stamped and punched
the bird, layering it up, and added to my branch.
The stamp set used is called Sweet Songbirds (SU).
The wording was cut from a free craft paper set from
years ago, which I coloured to match the bird.
I finally ran the ATC through my sewing machine
for the stitching.

Tag-along July

I can't believe it is July already!!
Of course that means it's time for a new theme
over at
This time the theme has been chosen by Brenda
and she has gone with 'in the garden'.

For my tag I choose a nice yellow for my base then cut my
white smaller and started with a cloudy sky and some
grass and flowers stamped along the bottom.
I stamped the dragonfly onto the card
then stamped again and cut and coloured the wings
and 3d them on top.
The sentiment was stamped and added
to my tag and I finished it off with some ribbons.

I decided to use the same stamp set for my ATC.
Again stencilling the clouds and then

Anything is possible!

We have another week of anything goes over at

This time I made two tags in different sizes.
These were made to go in one of my folios.
The backgrounds were cut from some grid paper from a pack
from K & Company.
I inked up the background in gorgeous grape then stamped
some text from Gorgeously Made stamps.
I then added bits of stickers and topped them with
wording from a Hunkydory pack called Just My Type.
I then melted some ribbon with my heat gun
and stapled to the top of each tag.

Come and join us this week and be in for a chance
to get a coveted badge for your blog!!

Pretty Folio and pen

I have made another folio to use up my 12 x 12 stash.
This one used papers from K & Company and My Mind's Eye
along with some Soft Sea Foam card.

I saw a folio made by May May on YouTube which sparked
an idea and this is what I ended up with.
The front is magnetised and I added a matching pen.

Inside there are note cards and a jotter
decorated with stickers, machine stitched and some stamping.

Flip another page and you get some pockets holding
another little note book and some pretty tags.
It is full of nice friendship and inspirational quotes.

Days gone by

It's time for a new theme over at
and this time it was the lovely Sandie's turn and she
has challenged us to go vintage/old.

I found a scrap of newsprint paper for my tag.
I stamped some text using Gorgeously Made stamp set.
I roughed up the edges of my tag then inked them
using early expresso ink. I then wrapped some lace around the tag.

Next I run my ink pad down a piece of card to get a plank look
and stuck it to my tag. The photo is of my Mum, Uncle and Aunt
and my older brother which I thought deserved a nice home.
I stuck it to one side of my plank card.
I stamped the word memories using Love This Moment stamp set
and stuck it on top of the photo.
I then added some butterflies punched in the matching
newsprint paper and added some colour with my markers.
I stamped some little squares to one side and a heart at the other side.
I then finished with some pearls and a little twine bow.
