Scrap Buster!

I had a raid through my scrap box today
choosing the tiny bits we can't bear to dump
but not sure what to use them for!

So I made a strip from them, adding
stitching, punched hearts and stars
corner rounder,
and some quotes using my Contact USA alphabets.

I did one strip using my coloured paper scraps

and one using black and white paper scraps.

You can watch my tutorial here

These are the scraps I used for the coloured ones
along with some broad masking tape.

Monday Morning Blues

Happy Monday!
This card for made for my sister-in-law.
I went with shades of blue for the base.
I then used papers from IndigoBlu magazine,
chopping them up and adding lots of layers.
I stitched around the main piece with my
sewing machine, added some lace across the middle.
I then stamped the flower and coloured
with my markers.
I die cut lots of leaves and inked some up
for added texture behind the main flower.
I then stamped the sentiment and layered
up in the same backing cards.
I added a few layers of ribbon and some
more layers before adding the sentiment
and flower.
I stamped the butterfly onto a scrap of the
paper I had used and then made
a wax melt in a similar colour
and added with some fibres.
I finished with a little bow.

Items used
papers IndigoBlu and card from my stash
stamps from IndigoBlu,
Woodware, Contact USA, Stampin Up
 and CreateKrafts.
Dies from SU and Tattered Lace.
Lace, Ribbon, wax, sewing machine
and fibres.

Recycling fun!

My hubby had received two cards on
Father's Day that came in these
pretty envelopes. The outside is
a lovely shade of blue and the inside
is spotty!
So I held on to them, as you do, and
spent ages trying to work out how to
use them to make a folio.
I finally did lol!
So I used two envelopes and one
sheet of 12" x 12" paper.
To decorate I used a couple of
6" x 6" papers.
Inside I had added notebook, journal card,
sketch book, mini envelopes, word tags,
bookmarker and tags.

You can watch a quick tutorial here

or a quick walkthrough of finished folio here

Items used
2 rescued envelopes
1 sheet of paper from my stash
Few sheets of 6" x 6" (SU).
Large letter dies (SU)
Pre made embellishments from my stash.
Pompon strip.
Stamps from CreateKrafts
and Contact USA.
Markers

Snippet play!

I gathered another little pile of snippets and
had a serious play!

From the snippets below I made these
sentiments.
I also added some little bits of lace, tulle,
my sewing machine and staples.
The words have been stamped using my
Contact USA alphabets.
Bear in mind they are tiny little things
but perfect for my folios etc.

Lollypops!

I'm using up more items from my stash this week
and these will fit nicely into my folios
when decorating them up.

I used half a lollypop stick for each.
They were inked up with distress oxide
and then I stamped some text over that
using Gorgeously Made stamp set (SU).

The tops have been decorated using
lace, fabric, raffia etc from my scrap drawer.
I added a butterfly (Aall & Create) to the front
and stamped some words for the backs
using Contact USA alphabet stamps.
I finished them with some gems.

You can watch the process here

Camellia Cluster

I had a card to make for my sister-in-law
and decided to play with some of my
neglected Lisa Horton sets.
This one is called Camellia Cluster
and it's a stencil and die set.

I used paper from my stash for the background.
I layered up some gold vellum onto a mat,
added some matching brads to the corners.
I then stencilled and die cut the flowers
using distress oxides.
Before placing on the card I wrapped some
of my gold mesh then added the
celebrate word from an old SU die.
I stamped the happy birthday using
Itty Bitty Birthdays (SU) and then
added her name using Contact USA alphabet
stamps. The card was finished with a die cut bow
and some little gems.
I followed a sketch from Sweet Sketch Wednesday.

Another scorcher today!!
If it was about 21 degrees I might be ok
but 27 is just too much for me.
For those that enjoy it have fun lol.

Another folio idea

Happy Monday.
I had another play around with one sheet of
12" x 12" paper and came up with this folio.

It has pockets and a waterfall so
uses up the full sheet!

I decorated the front with one of my tags,
just cutting the top off to make it fit.
I stamped lots of little inspirational
sayings on the inside and used
a few more of my ATCs along with
a handmade notebook.

This is how I decorated the back.
The closure is ribbon with some
paper beads I made from the straps.

You can watch a quick walkthrough here.

You can follow a tutorial for it here.

Items used
contact USA alphabet stamps,
Alphabest, Love this Moment,
Rectangular postage stamp punch,
paper florist dies, springtime impressions
all retired SU products.

Slider Box tutorial

I have a tutorial to share today.
I needed a gift box to hold some cash for
a 50th birthday this month
and I saw a tutorial for a slider box over on
Instagram. It was a much bigger box but
I loved the concept so I re-designed
to suit the size I needed.
The lady's name is Raushan_Willms.

It's a slider box.

So the one I made is just 3" x 3"
and I made it to match the pop up box
card I shared a while ago.

You can watch my tutorial here
