Magical moments!

Our new challenge theme for November over at
is anything goes option make it magical!

And of course there will be some very magical stamps
up for grabs so be sure and join us!!

For my card I used stamps from Lavinia.
I started by masking off my background using a circle
from Lisa Horton Crafts. The inks I used are all
distress inks in spiced marmalade, mustard seed and peeled paint.

I then stamped the foliage, fairy and toadstools in memento black
and then used Tahitian Tide (SU) ink to add some flowers.

I still felt something was missing so stamped the wording
on either side of her from the same stamp set.
I added some dots to the toadstools using a white acrylic pen.
I added some wink of stella to her wings.
I then edged the whole thing in black ink and matted
onto my card base.

Come and join us this month!!

Summer in the garden

It's time for my midway post for
where the theme is anything goes option summer garden.

I hope you get time to join us as the prizes are definitely
worth it!!

For my card today I stamped the image and then used the matching
stencils from a set called Enduring Beauty, to add colour and depth.
I chopped the finished image in half and filled
the gap with a piece of white card which I stamped
using Lisa Horton Crafts stamp called Sending you Sunshine.
I matted it onto a piece of paper from Country Woods set
and finished with some enamel hearts.
It was still looking a bit bare so I stamped, punched
and coloured the butterflies and stuck in place.
I then added some enamel pearls to the flowers.

Dressed to Impress

I had a card to make for my sister-in-law's birthday
next month so pulled out a retired set called
Dressed to Impress.
I stamped, die cut and then coloured all the elements
using markers.

I added a piece of scrap to one side, a strip of the green and
a piece of white which I cut with a spellbinders edge die
and slipped another piece of the green underneath.
I cut a bubble square from a set by Lisa Horton,
in green and a smaller one in white for my sentiment.
I used Biggest Wish stamp set in pink ink and added
some white dots when stamped.
All the die cut elements were arranged at the bottom
and I added her name too.
I finished the card off with a bow and some metallic pearls.

Stripes and a few spots!

I have another tag for Valerie's theme at
which is spots and/or stripes.

I used a stamp set called Painted Stripes Texture (LH)
to create my stripes on the background card.
I used another LH stamp called Sending You Sunshine
to get the flowers at the bottom.
I have coloured them with promarkers and blends.
The sentiment is from the Painted Stripes Texture set
stamped in balmy blue (SU).
I punched a small butterfly and coloured it with
purple and added some spots with my chalk pen.
I finished my tag with some white ribbon.

I hope you get time to join in.

Here comes the sun

I have another tag for Michele's theme
Here comes the sun over at

I have used Lisa Horton aperture circles to create the sunshine.
I then stamped over it using Cracked Bark Texture stamp.
I added the rays of sunshine using bumblebee ink (SU)
and inked around the whole thing using misty moonlight ink (SU).
The sentiments are from Stampendous tropical trees,
stamped in black and inked up in bumblebee.
I finished with a stapled matching ribbon.

I'm a bit late posting as I have been away for a
wee break in Bundoran, County Donegal,  with hubby.
Very relaxing, just lots of walking and our hotel room had the most
gorgeous sea view!

Carved wood technique!

So I had a little play on Sunday past as the weather
was atrocious with thunder, lightening and torrential rain!
What's a girl to do other than craft??

Anyway I decided to have a go at the carved wood technique.
I used items from Lisa Horton:
Poinsettia & Holly embossing folder
Painted Stripes texture stamps
Nested stitched bubble squares.
The inks I used are soft suede and bermuda bay (SU)
and matching ribbon and card from SU as well.

I did make a mistake when putting it into the embossing folder 🙈
should have been indented!!
But I still like the finished effect.
Another excuse to try again lol.

Christmas in July cards

I took a bit of time out to start on my Christmas card stash.
Both these cards were made using Lisa Horton's
Poinsettia and Holly stencil/emboss/diecut set.

One has been stencilled then embossed
the other has been embossed then stencilled.
There are subtle differences to the finished look and
I'm not sure which I prefer. More practise needed!
The sentiment is from an SU set called Itty Bitty christmas.
The ink colours I used are
Garden green, old olive, early expresso, poppy parade
and cherry cobbler. All from Stampin' Up!

Sunflower & Roses

I had another play with my Lisa Horton supplies,
this time making a quick birthday card to gift to a customer.

I have used the Sunflower & Roses set.
The stencilling was done first using real read, granny apple green,
lemon lime twist, poppy parade and bumblebee inks (SU).
I then embossed it using the matching folder then die cut it.

For the card base I embossed half of it using my score board,
stamped the sentiment  and added faux stitching
in the opposite area.

Holiday season!

It's time for a new theme over at
and Sandie has chosen
Holidays/travel!

For my tag I have used a very old stamp set from
Whiff of Joy called fun in the sun.
The images were stamped then masked so I
could create a sandy background and some sea and clouds.
The images where then coloured with promarkers.
I used a LH stencil circle to create the sunshine
and some torn papers and cloud edges for the sea and sky.
The sentiment came from the same stamp set.

Hope you can join us this fortnight.

Camellia get well soon

I finally got time to play with my Lisa Horton
Camellia Cluster set.
You get the stencils, dies and embossing folder
and they are just a joy to play with and experiment with.

I kept to the pink colour for this one to start me off
but will be a bit more daring the next time lol.
I added some line embossing using my score board
instead of leaving the card flat.
The flower has been chopped so I could make it fit my card
fully and I added a stamped sentiment and some pearls
to the centre border.

Masculine Fun Fold

Pop Up Pillar card.

Side view.

Folds flat for posting.

Today, for my midway post at
STAMPING SENSATIONS
I have gone with a funfold birthday card for my son Milo.
He is very in to his cars so I have gone
with a car theme.

The papers I used are retired SU ones.
The stamp sets used are
Geared Up Garage  (SU) for the car and all the embellishments.
I used a Lisa Horton stamp set (Linen Texture)
for the sentiment.
I added chalk pen lines up the sides and
there is a verse on the back of the card!.
I used promarkers, silver gel pen and memento ink to colour
and alphabet dies from Helen Griffin for his name.

Took me ages lol but I do like to give a funfold
card to all my kids for their special days.

I hope you get to join us this month with your
masculine themed projects. Remember we have
a lovely prize up for grabs too!

Use a die cut!

Our new challenge theme at
has been chosen by the lovely Valerie who wants us to
use die cuts.

This was definitely a challenge for me
as I rarely use blank die cuts.
I had a hoke in my stash and found the bird cage
and bird from a really old kit.
The birdcage has been covered in metallic rub ons,
the bird has been coloured up using inks and brushes
then I attempted to add some detail with a marker, but what a mess!
The background of my tag has been stamped using
Whitewash Texture stamp from Lisa Horton.
The sentiments are also from a LH set called
Cracked Bark Texture.
I inked over the stamped area with my brush then
assembled as above. and finished with some bakers twine.

Pretty pleased with the finished look for a first timer lol.
Hope you can come and join us.

Get well wishes!

I wanted to have a play with my stencils, stamps and dies

from Lisa Horton so went in search of a sketch

to motivate me.

I came across this one at

Try Stampin' on Tuesday

which worked perfectly for my big  yellow flower.

I have used yellows and greys for the flower,

shades of green for the leaves

and stamped the tag in grey ink and the

main sentiment in black, inked up with my blending brushes.

The stitching around the edges if from a set called

Stitchery from SU.

I finished with a yellow bow.
