Double Post

I'm sharing my midway post for our
furry friends theme over at

We have a lovely prize up for grabs so be sure
and get your entries in.

For my card I used a stamp set from Penny Black
called Ate the Candles.
I used a kraft card for my base and some
green gingham for the background paper.
A piece of green ribbon was stuck
across the middle of the paper.
I stamped happy birthday from a set called
Country Birdhouse and the small cakes are
from a set called Tabs for Everything, both SU.
The cute little dog has been coloured up with
markers and the sentiment is from the
same stamp set.
I used a set of rectangle stitched dies (SU).

I'm also sharing my midway post for our
Close to Nature theme over at
and remember we also have an amazing prize
up for grabs there too!

For my card I went with a fun fold shape.
I had saw one on Pinterest but it wasn't linked
to anyone so no instructions/measurements to follow.
So put my brain in gear and made this from
the photo.

It was made for my daughter-in-law's Rachel's birthday
and she love nature and gardening.

It did take a bit of time but made a  nice card.

I have used papers called Countryside Inn and Balmy Blue card (SU).
The stamp sets used are called
Butterfly Gala + punch, Forever Fern
and Forever Flourishing Dies.
I used boho blue and flirty flamingo inks
and just had fun with lots of stamping and die cutting
making the little foliage bouquets,
finishing them with a bit of ribbon.
I added some stamped and punched butterflies
along with some nice sentiments to the book side
and stamped around my birthday verse side
using the same stamps and inks.

It did fold fairly flat and slipped into it's envelope easily.

I would like to enter this into

Mini book of inspiration

I had some leftovers from the K & Co pad I used for my
garden folio on Monday so decided to make a mini
book filled with positive quotes.
It only measures 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" but holds lots!!

It has been filled to the brim with tags, lace, ribbon,
brads, pearls, mini envelopes, butterflies etc etc.
Stamp sets used were Tabs for everything and
Love this Moment, both SU.

You can watch a quick walk through here

Here is a photo of some of the snippets.
The pad had a lot of pull outs so I boxed and labelled them
to add to tags etc.

Garden themed folio

I'm in the process of making a bunch of items for my
daughter to bring to her table at Q-Con,
which is a big comic/gamer con at Queen's University
in Belfast. Lots of kids are brought there by parents
so I thought these might be nice to give away to the suffering parents.
Last year I did a load of worry worms
but this year I thought I would do some folios, miniature books
and needle felted monsters.

This is one of the folios with a garden theme.
Great for using up my stash!
The front has a pocket, metal corners and ties with a ribbon.

On the back I added some linen thread, torn papers
and a little watering can charm.
Inside I have created note books and the last book
has a few pages for each season in the garden.

You can watch a quick walk through video here
for the insides.

Items used
Stamp sets - Enjoy Life, Love this moment, tabs for everything,
poinsettia petals and Itty Bitty Christmas (all SU).
Papers - K & Co scrap pad.
Inks - distress inks - peeled paint, shaded spruce (SU)
sewing machine, eyelets, ribbon, pearls, vellum and
old diary pages.

Neglected stash used - eyelets, charms, paper pack, beads.

It's your birthday!

I have a card for our midway post over at
where the theme of September's challenge is
anything goes with the option of animal magic!

We do of course, have a lovely prize up for grabs,
in fact two lovely prizes from
so come and join us!!

For my card today I pulled out an old stamp set called
Counting Sheep (SU).
I inked up my background paper in granny apple green ink
then stamped, cut and coloured the sheep and hats
from that set, using markers.
I stamped some sparkles in the background then
added my sheep and hats along with a few
stamped blades of grass.
The sentiment was stamped along the bottom.
I layered it all onto matching green card and then
onto my card base.
I searched through my stamp sets and found the little cake
from Tabs for Everything (SU) which fitted perfectly
in the sheep's foot!

Art Journal Page 7

Happy Birthday to my lovely son Milo
and Happy Independence Day to all my lovely USA friends!!

My journal page sort of evolved as it went along.
I had an idea in my head to use bubbles in the sky but as I went along
it turned into a space theme nearly lol.
But then that's the fun of doing an art journal.

I started by punching circles in various sizes and inking them.
I used all the new In Colours and just sponged a few in each colour.
I used a bubble die for the small white circles which worked perfectly
as they came in various little sizes.
I stuck the circles in place then went around with the stencil,
drawing the little circles with a fine line pen.
I left an area with just some left over ink sponged on it
and proceeded to colour in all the areas with night of navy blend pen.
YES it took ages but it was so relaxing!!
I used lots of stamps from various stamp sets for the words.
I wanted the page to show how the darkness can be lightened
with precious memories, happy thoughts and positive feelings
and I'm more than happy with my page.
I hope you like it too.

Gable box with tag

My post today shows how I changed the look of the gorgeous little
Gable Boxes
to suit my birthday card I showed on Monday.

The boxes come ready to pop out in a gorgeous white card stock with a lovely
sparkle to it. I wanted to stamp on mine and add an acetate window too.

How to make this
1. Open up one of the gable boxes along the seam very carefully.
2. Spread out and using grapefruit grove ink and leaf stamp,
stamp off before each application and stamp all over your box.
3. Go back in now with highland heather and same stamp,
but stamp directly from ink, giving a nice bold leaf.

4. Using the 2 7/8" x 1 1/2" rectangle cut yourself a window.
Cut a piece of window sheet to slightly bigger than the rectangle.
Keep your cut out safe to use as a tag.
5. Add window sheet to inside of box using tear and tape.
6. Close up box by gluing the seam again and make up the box.
7. Stamp girl silhouette from enjoy life in memento and cut out.
Stick to one side of your leftover rectangle.
8. Stamp happy birthday from tabs for everything and punch with 1" punch.
9. Layered onto punched 1 1/8" punch.
Add to your tag using velvet ribbon and grapefruit grove ribbon
and tie to your box.
Fill with desired treats or cupcakes!
