Forever Fern Belated Birthday

Happy Monday!

My card today was a commission for a belated 60th birthday.
I have used a Tattered Lace die for the card shape.
Some retired papers for the decoration, tied in with
The stamps and dies I used are from a bundle called
I stamped and die cut the flowers and leaves and arranged
them into a nice bouquet.
I used Make A Difference stamp set for the name
and Itty Bitty Birthdays for the sentiment.
I also used Granny Apple Green ink pad for the greenery.

I decorated the inside using the same colours
and added some punched butterflies using the

Walk done for the day though it was a bit windy and wet.
I finally got round to putting up the tree.
Not my usual big one, just a small fibre optic one,
some twinkling lights around the fire and tinsel on the mirror!
Job done!!

Scrapbook Thursday (early)

It's Grandson Oliver's turn today.
This is one of his November layouts.
He is a bit camera shy compared to the others
and I really need to encourage his parents to sneak more photos 😂

This layout shows him doing some chores
and being a typical 12 year old he does not like doing the dishes!
Obviously his favourite chore is helping with his
little brother Finbar!
How gorgeous is that photo of the two of them.

I have followed the sketch from
Scrap Our Stash

It asks for watercolour patterned paper.
I did search high and low for this piece so hope it counts ok.
The chipboard I had to make myself as I didn't have one
that fit my theme. I punched about 5 layers of thin cardboard,
stuck them all together and added some watercoloured yellow
paper with a stamped sentiment, to the top.

I have used two stamp sets for this layout
The papers are from a retired set.

As this challenge ends today I am posting my layout early.
I always struggle in the last week of the month
as I work a week ahead and tend to miss out on the date.
Brain is working well today for a change 😂

Split front panel card

My video tutorial over in my VIP Group is called a

Split Front Panel Card.

I saw a card on Pinterest by the lovely Tina Shaw so decided to give it a go.

I have used scraps of my well depleted stock of Brightly Gleaming papers.

This is another much needed Christmas card for my small pile!

I have used two stamp sets -

Poinsettia Petals and Peaceful Boughs

along with some gold embossing powder and

gold foil sheets.

This is how I finished the inside of the card.

Gold embossed poinsettia and sentiment.

Am I getting too old for this!!

Lock down has started here, not that it will make

any difference to me as I tend to not go near the shops

if I can help it. Stay safe out there

and three cheers for all our delivery people!!

Scrapbook Thursday

I have a double page layout for Sean's
Halloween fun!

The inspiration for my layout came from this sketch over at

I have used retired papers and inked them up for that spooky look.
The little bats etc came from Banner Year.
The star of the pages is of course Grandson Sean!

Pets at Tag Tuesday

It's our second week of the challenge theme
PETS
over at Tag Tuesday!
I have gone with a Tim Holtz stamp, die and embossing folder set
that I won recently.
I have embossed my tag then inked up with bumblebee ink.
The cat was stamped and cut out.
All the little accents come from the same stamp set
and do you not love that sentiment 😂
He definitely has attitude, that cat!
I finished the tag by stapling some ribbon to the top.

Hope you get time to join the fun!

Silhouette Scenes Engagement/Anniversary Card

Happy Monday!

Our challenge last week was to make a monochromatic project.

I hadn't inked up this particular stamp yet from the
so thought it would work perfectly along with a scrap
from the Plaid Tidings papers.
The sentiment is from the same stamp set and
I got the heart stamp from Meant to Be set.
Would make a nice Engagement or Anniversary card.

Hope you have a great week.
From Friday we are going into lockdown
for two weeks. The schools will remain open
and shops are open for essential items only.
Let's hope this works!!

Just a little note...

This card was made from one of my video tutorials
showing how to ink and emboss.
I have used an older embossing folder as
I just love the deep embossing you get.
Worked perfectly with the inking up technique.
I embossed the base card with the same embossing folder
and have used Misty Moonlight ink.
The butterflies have been punched out the the misty moonlight card
and I finished with some misty moonlight ribbon.
The sentiment is from Butterfly Gala stamp set.

Fun fold Friday

My tutorial today is yet another first for me.
I have been cardmaking  for about  27 years now
but my cards were always commissions so I rarely
got time to actually play about with different folds and techniques.

This one is called a
Free Standing Pop Up Card!

There is room on the back for a nice verse.

And it folds flat for posting!!
(Without the peg of course lol)

This is really quick and easy and can be adapted to any size you want.

I made a birthday version on my first go but totally
forgot to keep the decoration flat...doh!
It obviously needs to be flat so it can slide to flat position.

But I will be handing this over rather than posting so
I won't tell anyone if you won't!!😂

Bit of a crooked angle lol but the weather is shocking
this weekend and indoor photos are not my forte!

Measurements I used to make these cards
Card - 4 1/4" x 11"
Score - 1", 2 3/4", 3 3/4", 5 1/2", 7 1/4", 8 1/4", 10"
Centre Card - 2 3/4" x 5 1/2"
White card for decorating - 2 1/2" x 5 1/4"
Paper for decorating
four pieces - 4" x 1 1/2"
two pieces - 4" x 3/4"
Circle punches for front.

Have a great weekend.

Scrapbook Thursday

It Grandson Tom's turn today for his
Halloween layout.
I did a double spread this time as I was sent
lots of gorgeous photos of him and Sean.
They had great fun with their Mum and Dad,
baking tarts, adding surprises, bobbing for apples
and playing spooky games in their Halloween getups!
You can see him reading the tag I made for their Halloween package
and one of the treats in his hand.
Their Mum said they were delighted with them.
Makes it all worthwhile to see a wee smile on their faces.

I followed this sketch from Sketches in Thyme

Garlands, Wreaths and Christmas Flowers

This is my midway post for our November challenge over at
and the theme is
Garlands, Wreaths and/or Christmas Flowers

For my card I have gone with Poinsettia flowers
on a corner fold card.
I have used traditional colours
of red and green with a tiny bit of gold.

The flowers have been stamped and white embossed.
I then cut them out and layered them up.
The leaves have been stamped and embossed on green card.
Cut out and popped under the flower.
The sentiment has been stamped in matching red
and finished with a green and gold bow.

This is the inside of the card

I hope you get time to join us this month.

We ventured out early this morning to start
Christmas shopping!!
The car parks seemed full but inside wasn't too bad.

Pets at Tag Tuesday

The challenge this time over at
has been chosen by Valerie-Jael
and she wants to see PETS!

I have gone with a kitten even thought I do not have one lol.
I have used some retired papers with black card.
The stamp itself is from Patchwork Pals and the paw print
is a really really old stamp from Dawn Bibby era!
