Christmas Countdown

Today I am sharing the final part of this project and it's
a countdown calendar for December.

Again I used scraps from two different retired Christmas packs.
I only needed small pieces for each page.
The pages themselves were cut using balmy blue card
and I made a stand for it using real red card.
The numbers were cut using the same paper and backed onto
card so a lot of cutting lol.
Each page is decorated differently.
I have put them all together
to make it easier for you to see.

I decorated them with words, snowflakes and some stamped
snowmen.
When I had all the pages decorated and the stand made I used
my Cinch to bind them all together.
So it just sits displaying the days date until Christmas.

Here is a quick walk through of each page.

Sweet Treat Box

I had a box to make for an upcoming birthday so decided
to do a wee tutorial while I was at it.
I saw the original tutorial from a lady called
Crafty Little Miss K over on YouTube.
I have changed the score lines to make it a bit easier to follow
and changed the inside flap to make it open easier,
but other than that it follows her design.

I used black card and Country Woods for this one as it is
for a masculine birthday.
The sentiment came from a retired set called
Tiny Keepsakes.

I popped a candle in there to show how deep it is.
It is a 2" square box.

You can watch my tutorial here

Measurements needed to make one
Black card - 6" x 10"
Score 6" side - 2", 4"
Score 10" side - 2", 4", 6", 8"
DSP to decorate
6 pieces at 1 7/8" square
one party straw

By the sea

Our next challenge theme this fortnight over at
has been chosen by the lovely Valerie
and she has chosen summer holidays!
So whatever that means to you let us see it.

I have gone with a fishing scene and used a stamp set
called Beside Me (SU).
I attempted to make a sea and sky background and then
stamped the image at the bottom and coloured them in
with my markers.
I added a setting sun and a little yacht in the sea and
I used gesso to add some foam to the water.
Best I could do lol.
I finished with a brad and ribbon.

It's a beautiful sunny day today so I am heading out
to the garden to make the most of it.
Enjoy your day!!

Let it snow!

So with our Christmas theme over at Stamping Sensations
I was inspired to keep it going!

I had this wooden blank lying about since last year and
thought it could do with a bit of pimping lol.
So I got out my Country Woods dsp pack and covered
the base, sanding off all the edges.
I die cut the large letters for my wording along with some
snowflakes which I layered up many times and added gems to.
Then came the stamping. I used two old stamp sets called
Snowman Season and Spirited Snowmen.
The snow people were stamped, coloured and cut
and stuck in place.

I was pretty pleased with myself lol.
I have another nice project to share using the Christmas
theme but will save that until next week.

We had a quick scoot down to Omeath today.
It started out very misty but eventually the sun shone through.
Beautiful breath of fresh air and the views were stunning!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Love never melts!

I have another card for our midway post over at
where the challenge is anything goes
with optional Christmas theme.

This challenge really spurred me on to get started on Christmas.

We do of course have lovely prizes so please come and join us!!

For my card I used some scraps for my background, ripping the edge of one.
I die cut a circle and stamped some snowflakes and blended the sky.
I added some torn papers for the snow and a chip board tree.
I then stamped the snow couple, coloured them up and cut them out.
The sentiment was stamped directly onto the card base.
I finished with a ribbon, die cut snowflake and some glitter
and gems.

I have a few other projects to go along with this card
which I will share next week.

Believe in yourself!

Something a little different today.
I didn't have enough paper left in this pack which was called
Berry Delightful (SU) to make a mini album so I went with
a folio wallet.
On the front I put two pockets with faux stitching.
In the big pocket I have a handmade mini book
and in the smaller pocket I have a tiny journal tag.
The stamp set I used is called Love This Moment (SU).

Inside I have the main book which has been stitched in place
with a vellum front and back cover.
To the left I have two pockets and I have added
a large handmade notebook and a mini book with paperclip notelets.

On the back page I have added another handmade notebook
and mini book with paperclip notelets.

I did finish off this pack and I am very happy with the outcome.

Here is a quick walk through of my folio

Hello little one

It's the second week of our celestial themed challenge over at

I used my Bokeh Dots stamp (SU) again for the background,
this time in starry sky ink and coloured in some stars.
The baby image is from Stamping Boutique which I coloured
with my markers and cut out to fit on the tag.
The sentiment is from a stamp set called Little Elephant (SU)
which I stamped in black ink then coloured the background
to match the moon.

I hope you get time to play along this week!

Another overcast day today but at least it's dry.
We had our Granddaughter for 3 hours yesterday and seriously
all I can say is how did I do with for four kids lol.
Totally wrecked going to bed last night.
Enjoy your day everyone and thanks for stopping by.

Summer has begun!

I had this lovely pack of paper which had only a few sheets used
and I thought it would make a perfect album for my
Grandsons Sean and Tom for their holiday adventures this year.

The paper pack is from Echo Park called Dive into Summer
and it is full of lovely papers along with these great little
cut outs which work perfectly with the photos.
They have had one quick camping holiday already
and have just upgraded from a tent to a camper van so
lots more photos to come!

For the album itself I followed a tutorial from Gloria Scraps.
It measures 5" x 3 1/2" and has flip ups, tri folds and pockets.

Thankfully I had just enough papers to cover everything!!
I decided on a snap button closure as it was not staying closed
as I packed it with so much stuff lol and in order to secure
my closure I had to back the front paper in sticky back plastic!

I used some fabric on the side for a beachy look and added a little charm.

It's overcast but dry today so we are heading out
to paint the fences!!
Enjoy your weekend.

First Christmas Mini Album

I have another little mini album to share today.
This one was made for my Granddaughter Aimee's first Christmas
this December.

On the front I made a shaker with the little penguin and some fake snow.
On the side I added a bell and some pompoms
and it has been closed using some red and white gingham ribbon.

The whole thing was constructed using real red card and scraps
from two Christmas paper packs.
I also used some Nitwits images for embellishments here and there.

It's all in the stars!

We have a new theme over at
chosen by the lovely Michele and she wants to see
all things celestial!

I pulled out a Lavinia stamp and a Bokeh Dots stamp (SU)
for my tag.
I stamped the fairy then masked her off so I could stamp the background.
I coloured her up using blends, added yellow to the stars
and backed it onto some night of navy card.
I used orchid oasis ink (SU), markers and finished her off
with some sparkly night of navy ribbon (SU).
This is the Lavinia stamp I used.
Was beginning to doubt myself after Brenda's comment below so went to check lol.

I hope you get time to join us!

We had a mostly sunny day yesterday so we painted the decking.
Today I can hardly move with aches and pains!!
Really showing my age lol.
Back to rain today for the whole day so glad to have
got the work done!!

Up on the rooftops!

Our July challenge over at
is anything goes with the option of Christmas.

We have some lovely prizes up for grabs too
so please come and join us with your beautiful creations.

I had a good hunt through my stamp sets and came across
a Creative Expressions stamp called above the roof tops.
So I stamped and clear embossed the image in the middle of my card.
I ink blended the sky, masking off a circle for the moon.
I coloured the moon then decided to add some rays which
ended up making it look like the sun 😎 but there was
no going back at this stage lol.
So I splattered some chalk paint for snow.
At the bottom I inked some snow hills and then stamped my sentiment.

Cup of cheer!

I was putting my Son's birthday present together and thought it
needed a little birthday card inside there too.
So I followed a sketch for this card and used the matching
papers, stamps and dies.

It did fit inside perfectly along with the gift holder!

Christmas Mini Album

Tis the season??
I know a bit early even for me but this was the next paper pack leftovers
that was on my to 'use up' list.

I spent a bit of time sorting out what sizes each piece was and embellishments
I could use, before getting down to the size of the book.
This one is 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" and has lots of fold outs and pockets.

Again I went with the snap button closure as it is really
strong for these little books.

Flower wreath tag

It's the second week of my challenge theme FLOWERS over at

This time I stamped one flower spray from Country Birdhouse set six times.
They were coloured and die cut then I arranged them
around a die cut circle to which I stamped my sentiment.
I finished the flowers with some pearls
and a piece of matching ribbon.

I hope you can join us this week.

So I have a question for you all.
When linking your post to a certain challenge blog
do you click on the challenge blog post for the link or
do you just copy the challenge link itself?
Apparently I have been doing it wrong all these years by just adding
the link of the challenge blog and not that particular post 😒
I had my wrist slapped twice today lol. So now I am clicking on the challenge
post first for every single one I enter.

Birthday chocolate

It will be my youngest son Milo's birthday on the 4th July
and even though he will be 39 I still like to give him
a bit of chocolate packaged up for his birthday.

His favourite is Yorkie bars so that's what I designed the box to fit.
It holds 3 chunky bars.

You can watch my tutorial here

I used Latte Love Bundle to match his birthday card.

Measurements needed to make one
