Tag Tuesday - Vintage/Shabby Chic

Winner's Badge

This is my first post as a design team member for
The lovely Valerie-Jael invited me to join their very talented team
and of course I couldn't refuse.
So the challenge this fortnight is
and is being hosted by the lovely Sandie
so I hope you get time to join in.

For my tag I have used the crackle paint stamp for the background
in powder pink. The edges have been inked and distressed.
I used the heart stamp from Forever Lovely stamp set and added some
in powder pink again, up either side of the tag.
The flower comes from the stamp set called Floral Essence.
I stamped it twice and water coloured it and added some wink of stella.
The leaves have been stamped and punched in soft sea foam ink.
The sentiment has been gold embossed and again
the edges have been distressed.
Underneath the flower there is, believe it or not,
a lovely piece of cream lace. But it's hard to see.

The storm has cleared away and left us with a lovely bright morning.
Getting out there for a walk to blow the cobwebs away!!
Hope you get time to join us during this very busy week!

Tea Light box in Forever Lovely

Only 2 days left for Sale-A-Bration!!
Links below

This is the candle box I made to match yesterday's card.
I used the same dsp teamed up with crumb cake card.
The little poem inside is off google and is perfect for
giving to someone who has just lost a family member.

How I made the Candle Box
1. Cut piece of crumb cake card 9 1/4" x 4 " and score at 4", turn and score at 4"
Fold to form a book shape.
2. Cut DSP 3 6/8" square (3 pieces) 1 1/8" x 3 6/8" (2 pieces)
3.  Cut a 6 1/4"  square of crumb cake.
Score at 1/2", 1 1/2". Turn and repeat on all sides.
Score and cut waste away. Using circle die 2 7/8" in centre of score lines.
This fits the older Ikea round candle holder. Adjust to suit your own candle.
3. Add double sided tape as in pic below and add your ribbon.
Seal up final edge using wet glue.
4. Finish forming the box shape.
5. Cut a piece of crumb cake 8cm square to seal bottom of your box.
6. Cut two pieces of ribbon 10" long. Add double sided tape to front
of your book shape and stick the ribbon. Glue your dsp to cover the front and ribbon.
Add double sided tape to inside left for other ribbon, and cover with dsp.
7. Adhere your spines and insides with dsp.
8. Glue your candle box in place on right hand side of book.
9. Decorate the front by punching two pretty labels in cake crumb.
10. Type out your sentiment (or stamp it) in matching hex colours
and punch using the pretty label punch.
11. Add sentiment to one label using dimensionals and glue second one so it shows at bottom.
12. Stamp 3 flowers in lovely lipstick, and 6 leaves in soft sea foam and cut out.
Add to front of your box.

Thinking of You - Forever Lovely

Another card request, this time a sympathy type card.
I went with the Forever Lovely stamp set and dsp and a butterfly
from the Butterfly Gala stamp set.
The white background is actually embossed but not showing up to well.
There is a little bit showing in bottom right corner.
Come back tomorrow to see my matching candle box.

How I made this card
1. I used an a5 card base in white.
2. Cut piece of crumb cake 5 6/8" x 8", mat with dsp 5 3/8" x 7 7/8"
3. Cut piece of crumb cake 2 1/2" x 7", wrap piece of ribbon and secure at back.
Stick this to your main card.
4. Cut piece of crumb cake 3 7/8" x 6"
Emboss a piece of whisper white measuring 3 5/8" x 5 7/8"
Stick together and add to your card.
5. Stamp  6 flowers in lovely lipstick, 12 leaves in soft sea foam,
and one butterfly in crumb cake.
6. Cut all items out and add to your card as above.
Colour butterfly in matching blends and add to card.
7. Punch two pretty label shapes in crumb cake.
8. Type your sentiment in matching hex colours and measure
to fit the lovely label. 2 2/8" wide x 6/8" works well.
print and punch out.
9. Layer up your sentiment with dimensionals, add one label to top
and glue other to bottom, showing a bit at either end.
Stick to your card.
10. Finish with a matching bow.

Forever Lovely get well card

Have you been in our top 5?

I had a get well card to make for a friend and this is what I came up with.
I wasn't sure when I first chose the colour. I saw some tulips this colour when out walking the dog
and I really liked the richness of the colour.

How I made my card:
1. Make the card using Fresh Fig card stock.
2. Cut a piece of whisper white to fit and stamp the leaves first, in Old Olive.
3. Now stamp the flowers in fresh fig over the top of your leaves.
This is much easier using the Stamparatus.
4. Stamp the sentiment in fresh fig ink.
5. Wrap a piece of fresh fig ribbon on left of card.
6. adhere it all to the card base.
7. Make a bow in matching ribbon and adhere to ribbon band.
8. Follow the same procedure inside, stamping top and bottom
and sentiment in middle.

Check out my product list below to see what I used for this card.
