Text message!

It's my midway post for our challenge over at
where the lovely Lynn has chosen the theme
add some text or anything goes
so long as you make a tag, an ATC or a bookmark.

I started with a black background to which
I added a white piece covered in
pink acrylic paint and then stencilled
with a dark pink using a text stencil
from Crafters Companion.
Next I added a torn piece of the pink text
paper (SU), slipping a piece of lace underneath
it for added texture.
I finished with the butterflies in pink
from AALL & CREATE and
some sticker words.

For my ATC I used a piece of card
cut to size made using my gel plate
with acrylic paint and some bubble wrap..
I added a strip of lace and then some
torn text paper in yellow (SU).
I stamped the mushroom using a set called
Happy Hedgehogs, coloured up with markers.
Next I text the little fairy from Lavinia stamps
in black.
I stencilled a circle for the moon
and finished with some sticky words.

Hugs & Purrs

I was lucky enough to win a pack of four stamp sets,
along with some ink pads and a stamping block
from the lovely Wendy from CreateKrafts!

She sells the cutest stamps along with
cross stitch kits and dies etc.
You can check her out on Etsy HERE.

So as soon as I got them I had to make something.
This cute set is called Hugs & Purrs.
I followed the sketch over at
and used some card from my stash
along with some old SU spotty paper.
I added the little flower embellishment
and coloured the kittens with my markers.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend.

Birthday crosses

I had a birthday card to make for a Priest
recently and this is what I came up with.

The background paper (SU) was wrapped
with some lace then run through my sewing machine.
Next I used a Tutti Designs die to cut
the arch in white then recut to get the crosses
in the matching paper.
I glued onto a page blue background
and layered up with the crosses and
some pearls.
I stamped the sentiment using a set called
Timeless Tulips.
Next I added some flowers cut from
some old SU papers and I coloured
them up with markers and
stuck in place.
His name was generated on my computer.
I finished by adding two gems to the top.

Slider Box tutorial

I have a tutorial to share today.
I needed a gift box to hold some cash for
a 50th birthday this month
and I saw a tutorial for a slider box over on
Instagram. It was a much bigger box but
I loved the concept so I re-designed
to suit the size I needed.
The lady's name is Raushan_Willms.

It's a slider box.

So the one I made is just 3" x 3"
and I made it to match the pop up box
card I shared a while ago.

You can watch my tutorial here

Sports and hobbies

Our June challenge over at
has the theme sports and hobbies/anything goes.

We have a lovely prize up for grabs
so be sure and join us.

For my card I use mostly scraps of leftover sports paper (SU)
and then made two tags for the centre,
stamping the golfer and colouring him up
with markers.
I decorated with card candi and die cut golf balls
along with the birthday wish and golf
sentiment all from the same stamp set called
Clubhouse (SU).

My daughter has had her drain removed this morning
and her temperature seems normal.
Fingers crossed she gets out but has to
go back on Wednesday for more bloods.
Now I can breathe again!!
They're our babies no matter what age they get to.

Happy Hour!

I have another card for a June birthday.
This one is for my sister-in-law.

I went with a cocktail theme as she loves a party.
She's not a big drinker but is very social.

I used wood effect paper for the bottom
which I inked up in yellow ink.
For the background I used a stamp set
called Geared up Garage and inked the oil stamp
in yellow, lime green and bright pink.
I then stamped and die cut the glasses
using a set called Sip Sip Hooray.
I stamped, coloured and cut all the little add ons
with my markers.
I splattered some pink ink in the white
space and then stamped my sentiment.
I then arranged the drinks in place
and finished with a sentiment.
All stamps are from SU.

I've not been around too much these past few days.
My daughter went in for a Gallbladder removal and
something went badly wrong. She is still in hospital,
still has part of her gallbladder and is very ill.
She is getting an MRI now to see what the damage is
and they will go from there.
At my wits end!

Text me!

It's time for our June challenge over at
and this time Lynn has set us the theme of
add text/anything goes.

For my tag I started with a background
made using my gel plate and acrylic paints
in blue and yellow.
I used a small flower stamp to create
a pattern.
I cut my tag shape using  the Best Trio Punch (SU)
and using Gorgeously Made text stamp (SU)
I added text along the right hand side of my tag.
Next, using HOTP feather stamp,
I stamped the feather twice and
embossed it with clear embossing powder.
Next I used the matching stencil and
stencilled the feather using TH sparkle
embossing paste.
I matted it onto some blue paper and
stamped the sentiment from the same set,
ripped the edges and added to my tag.
I finished with some pearlised enamel dots
and a mix of gold ribbon and string.

Here's a close up of my feather
showing how sparkly it is using the
TH embossing paste.

For my ATC I was inspired by one this one I saw on
Pinterest.

The background was made on my gel plate.
I cut my size and added some faint text using my
Gorgeously Made (SU) text stamp.
I then punched some circles in different
sizes and inked them up in different colours.
I stamped some text over the top using a
Visible Image set called background vision.
I inked around their edges and then stuck
in place.
I finished with a word sticker.
