Traveller's Notebook

My Grandson Tom is turning 12 next month
and along with a regular card I decided
to make him this traveller's notebook.
He is very into story writing and sketching so
I thought a wee ideas book would be useful.

It is pretty thick and holds a lot.
I was inspired by a die set from Sizzix
but unfortunately it is one of those thick dies
and my machine will not take those.
So I watched a video by Eileen Hull
where she shows you how to put the book
together and I just made my own measurements
and made the above.
You can watch a quick walkthrough video here

For this book I have used
papers from We R Memory Keepers
Alphabet Dies from Simply Made Crafts
Elastic and some handmade notebooks.

Just chill!

Finally feeling back on power again!
Thanks so much for all the well wishes,
they were greatly appreciated.

Today I have another April birthday card
for my MIL to give to one of her
Grandsons.
Ruairi has a one year old so doesn't get
much time to chill so thought this
would make his smile lol.

The stamp set used is from Beyond Stamping.
I fooled about with my pencils and markers to
create a background then added (badly)
the word CHILL.
The papers are from Nitwits
called Beelightful.

Double Post

This month is just flying in and I am so behind
in my projects!
Thankfully I did have my DT ones for March
made before I went on holidays.

Our challenge over at
has a Spring/anything goes theme.

We do have a lovely prize
so make sure and get your entries in.

For my card I used an old stamp set from SU called
Timeless Tulips. I stamped and masked so I could do
two different colours.
I added some matching ribbon beneath my
yellow mat and finished with a sentiment
and some heart gems.

Our challenge over at
has a theme of wildlife/anything goes.

Look at these fantastic prizes!!

For my card I used an old stamp set from SU called
Stylish Sketches. I formed my layers using
green card, dotty green paper, lace and ribbon
and then stamped and coloured my ducks
with markers,
and used my rectangle dies to cut out.
I added clouds and grass and finished
with a sentiment using another stamp set
called Welcome Easter
with two matching gems to finish.

Spring Flowers!

I have been missing in action for what seems like ages
but I have been sick as a parrot.
First I got a V & D virus.
That floored me for a couple of days.
Then I got a head cold immediately after
and it has since become a sinus infection.
I am worn out completely.
Finally got an antibiotic yesterday
and don't start me on the hurdles
I had to jump to get speaking to
a doctor. Seriously!!
But hopefully I will be on the mend
by Monday and play a bit of catch up.

It's time for my midway post for our
Spring Flowers/anything goes at

For my tag I  punched out a plain piece of card
with my Best Trio Punch (SU) and rounded
the bottom corners too.
I then inked the background in blue ink.
Next I used an old SU stencil to add some
 crystal paste to two corners.
I then stamped the other two corners using
a stamp set from Visible Image called
Grunge Tones in yellow.
I stamped, coloured and die cut the flowers
and teapot using a set called Country Flowers (SU).
Before sticking in place I stamped the small
flowers in black.
I finished with a ribbon.

For my ATC I used two stamp sets called
Timeless Tulips and Fable Friends.

I created the background by mixing inks
from IndigoBlu and Distress inks.
I brushed some gold ink around the edges
and then stamped, coloured and cut the tulips
using markers.
I stuck them in place then splattered some
white ink over the top.
I stamped and cut the sentiment
and placed over the flowers.

Birthday boy!

Another card for my Mother-in-law
to give to her great grandson Curtis.

I thought this cute Mo's image would suit him
well for his sixth birthday.
He has been coloured with markers and cut out
to fit onto the spotty background.
I used papers from Nitwits called big top
and I layered up the stars and added some
sentiments along with a die cut 6
for his age.

Chucking it down here and it's on for the day
apparently! I have my Granddaughter for a few
hours though so that's better than any sunshine!
Have a lovely day.

Double post!

A day late with my post but we are just
back from a lovely holiday in Fuerteventura.
So nice to get a bit of sunshine!!!

Anyway our theme over at
is Spring or anything goes (Stamping).

We do of course have some prizes up for grabs
so be sure and join us.

For my card I stamped directly onto my card
using a stamp set called Daffodil Daydream (SU).
The flowers have been coloured with markers
and I have added some glitter but it
does not show up in my very yellowy photo!
I added a line of embossing around the
edges to finish the card.

Our new challenge over at
has a theme of Wildlife/plants/animals
so lots of choice there.

We also have some great prizes up for grabs
here too some get your entries in now.

For my card I embossed my background using
a very old embossing folder but can't see a name.
I added a wrap of lace then stitched
around it on my sewing machine.
I stamped, coloured with markers, and
cut out the birds from a stamp set called
Free as a Bird (SU),
and added across the lace.
I finished with a stamped sentiment onto
a shape die cut from Stitched Nested Labels (SU)
and adhered two blue hearts.

Spring Flowers

It's time for a new challenge theme over at
and Lynn has chosen Spring Flowers.

For my tag I went with a quirky bottom.
I cut my shape then covered it in gesso.
I then stencilled using a stencil
from an old SU set in green and blue inks.
I then stamped, coloured and cut the daffodil
using a set called Daffodil Daydream.
I adhered it to my tag then added
some quotes made on my label maker
which I outlined in black.
I finished with some faux stitching
and some blue organza ribbon.

For my ATC I stencilled a background
in yellow using the same SU set as above.
I added a piece of torn gingham paper
across the middle.
I then stamped, colour with markers
and cut out my daffodil from
Daffodil Daydream set (SU).
I then added the wording stamped
from a set called Love this moment
and highlighted the letters in matching ink.
I finished by inking around the edges and
adding a splash of gold ink.
