Henry the mouse!

Meet Henry the mouse!
This is my very first needle felted piece.
I hadn't a clue what I was doing and got many bloody
fingers from stabbing myself lol,
but I absolutely became addicted right away.

I made a little box to keep him in with an acetate window
and printed his name using my label maker.

Hopefully I will get to make another one soon!

In the post!

I have another tag for Sandie's
Use a Postage Stamp challenge over at

For this one I stamped the background using  a Woodware stamp called
Vintage Swallow tail.
The papers are scraps from my scrap box
and I also used the scraps to make some mini
envelopes.
The stamp is from the pile I saved over Christmas.
It has been finished with a die cut tag top.

Double angled pillar card!

I was inspired to make this card when I saw a lovely card my crafty friend
Carol made recently. Carol had followed a tutorial from Iced Images
for a right angled pillar card.
So I went to check it out and as I watched the tutorial this designed
popped into my head so I went about making a double angled
pillar card.
The first one I made is a 2" x 2" panel but I thought it stuck out too much
so I went back to the drawing board and came up with this one.

See how my pillar is half the depth of the previous one?
It also still folds flat even with the two angles
and fits into a 6" envelope.

I have a tutorial you can watch to make this particular one
with the double angles and smaller pillar

Flower Box Card

My only living Aunt's birthday is coming up next month
and I like to make her a special card so I went with a
Flower Box card.
The tulips and leaves have all be stamped and fussy cut
and the stems were cut from green card.
I stamped and coloured a little butterfly
and added ribbon, gems and a circle sentiment.

It folds flat for posting and fits into an 8" x 8" envelope.

I even had room for a nice verse on the back.

I used Flower Box Card dies from Cardmaking Magic,
Timeless Tulips stamp set (SU),
Highland Heather, Garden Green, Sweet Sorbet and Bubble Bath inks (SU),
Garden Green and lilac card from my stash, organza ribbon
and gems and the papers are called
Delightfully Eclectic (SU).

We are sitting in the eye of the storm at the minute.
The lights are flickering so expecting the electric to go soon.
So far we have lost some cladding from the side of the house
and the chimney is struggling.
My son has a tree down, my other son has fence down
and their neighbour's roof has started to come down!
So scary and dangerous. I hope everyone is keeping
indoors and away from falling debris!

and the papers are from Nitwit's called
Manpants.
I have coloured the image with my markers.

First class post!

It's time for a new challenge over at
and this time Sandie wants to see you use
a postage stamp!

I had collected some stamps over Christmas to keep
for this theme and make my background tag with them.
I then stamped Charlie the Postman from Whiff of Joy
and coloured him up with markers.
I added a sentiment using my label maker
and finished the tag off with some ribbon.

I hope you get time to play along this fortnight.

Keep in touch!

I have another tag for Valerie's theme
New Beginnings over at

This week I went with the theme 'keep in touch'.
How many of us say we will keep in touch
but don't? And at this age it usually ends up too late :(

I found this Lili of the Valley image and thought it
would work perfectly with my triangular shaped tag.
The shape came about as I had some scraps left over
from a previous project lol.

So this little bear actually comes with a large sunflower
so I cut that away and coloured him up with markers
and wrote 'keep in touch' on his little envelope.

I hope you get time to join us this week.

Little book of inspiration!

I made this little book for a little girl I don't see very often,
maybe just 3 times a year but she absolutely
loves to drop by and do some crafting with me.
So I thought this little book would be nice for her.
She is ten years old.

It is full of little quotes, butterflies and tags
with space to write little notes, some paper clips,
sticky notes and some cute page markers.

All tied up with some ribbon.

You can watch a quick run through here

Items used
Stamps: butterfly gala, yay you (SU)
Punches: butterfly punch, tag punch
Inks: memento, bubblebath

My happy place!

Our new challenge theme at
has been chosen by Valerie and she has gone with
NEW BEGINNINGS!

This year I have started doing some needle felting.
It is very addictive and so far I have made a little mouse
and a rabbit.
So I decided to needle felt a little heart for my tag
to represent my new beginnings in my crafty world!

I embossed the background with a heart folder
and punched with my tag punch.
I needle felted a heart in yellow
and then added my sentiments in yellow ink.
The tag was finished with some gold ribbon.
Stamp set used was Alphabest (SU).

We had a lot of snow today but thankfully some sleet afterwards
and it's disappeared again. Freezing cold though!
Be careful out there.

Double up!

is anything goes with the option of hand coloured image.

We have some lovely prizes up for grabs
from Grafton crafts so be sure and join us!!

For my card I have used a PB stamp called Soft spoken.
I stamped the flower and coloured it up using markers in shades
of purple and green.
I stamped the sentiment in black from a stamp set called
Latte Love (SU).
I then used a stencil called Four Square (SU) and added
some colour around the area of the flower.
I matted it onto some purple card and finished it
off with a bakers twine bow.

I hope you get time to join us this month!

It's also time for a new challenge over at
and the theme this month is anything but square!

We have a lovely prize up for grabs so be sure and join us!

For my card I decided to make a circle easel card.
As it's my eldest son's birthday this month
I kept him in mind when making it.

I had treated myself to stamps, stencils and masks from
Sheena Douglas and for this card I used
Howling at the Moon.
I absolutely love these sets and know it will be well used.
I went with shades of green and blue and created
a scene inside the stencil using the matching stamps.
The circle dies are from a Tattered Lace set.
Other stamp set used are
Country Birdhouse, Artistically Inked and Alphabest (SU).

I hope you get time to join us this month.
