Brad bound!

Happy Monday!

I came across a lovely tutorial over at
Cathy's Garden where she showed how you can make
a junk journal using brads for the spine.

I still can't get my head around vintage and junk and tend
to go for a cleaner look so I decided to have a go
my way.

I used papers from DCWV - all dressed up.
Vellum from my stash.
Stamps - Love this moment (SU).
Embellishments - fibres, lace, ric rac trim,  brads, butterfly punch.
Stencils - freebie from magazine
Printables - My Porch Prints.
Embossing folder - Crafter's Companion

You can watch a quick walk through of the inside here

Double day!

It's time for our midway post over at
where this month's theme is
summer blooms or anything goes.

We do have a lovely prize up for grabs so come and join us!

For my card I used set number 229 - blooming field
from AAll & Create.
The paper I used for the background is a very old one
from We R Memory Keepers. It's actually a 12" x 12" sheet
which I had to carefully cut down so I could get
that lovely frame to work for my a5 card.
I covered the joins with butterflies and it worked out well.
The flowers were stamped, coloured with markers
and cut out.
I stamped the sentiment below and added a ribbon
to the flower stem.
For the sentiment I punched  (SU) out the shape twice,
once in cream and again in pink.
I added some tails of the same ribbon underneath
the sentiment.
To finished I added some sequins to the butterflies.

It's also time for our midway post over at
and the theme is sun, sea, sand or anything goes.

We have a lovely prize up for grabs here too!

For my card I have used an embossing folder
from Crafters Companion called Charming Coral.
I embossed it onto blue card then ran my
white ink pad over the top to pick up the embossing.
The stamp set is called Marine Life
from Globleland (Amazon).
It's a one piece stamp so I stamped it out then
cut out and coloured up the ones I wanted.
I used a die cut circle for the centre, added
my sentiment from a set called Sending Support (SU)
then filled up the gaps with the shells.
Before sticking the circle in place I wrapped
the blue card with some netting.
I finished it off with the coloured up items.

Little snippets!

I took a little time out to have a play
and use up some snippets to join in the challenge at

I pulled these out of my scrap box along with a very
old pack of LOTV stamped images I got free with a magazine
a long time ago.

The pieces look big but they really aren't and the card
is just a note size card 3 1/2" x 5"
but it will make a cute gift card for my granddaughter one day.

The stamp set I used is called  Circle Sayings (SU)
and the ink is polished pink (SU).
I added some lace from my stash and punched
a tiny little flower in pink and lilac leftovers
and finished with a little gem.
She has been coloured up with my markers.

It's a new day!

Happy Monday!
I here with my midway post for our
in the garden theme or anything goes over at

For my tag I used a stamp set from Paper Artsy
called Tops & Tails.
I started with a black base, punched with my fancy
corner punch (SU) then I cut a piece of gingham paper
and stamped the swirls, butterflies and dots
along with the sentiment.
I added orange marker to the swirls,
coloured my butterflies, both getting double stamped
and layered up then finished with some black ribbon.

For a change I went with an ATC Coin this time.
It measures 2 1/2" in diameter which is the
acceptable size for these coins.
I used the same Tops & Tails stamp set again
but this time I roughly inked the background then stamped
the flowers and grass along the bottom
adding colour with my markers.
I stamped out the sentiment and butterfly
and added to the coin highlighting the wording
with some squiggles.

Remember we have this lovely prize up for grabs
so be sure and get your entries in.
You can enter up to four times with either a tag
or ATC.

Howl at the moon!

Happy Friday!
I have been away for a few days in Wicklow
with hubby and it was so great to have
a little break as we haven't been away from
last September!
Weather was amazing, nearly too hot, dare I say lol.

My card today was made for my Son's 40th last week.
I used a stencil/mask set from Sheena Crafts
called Howling at the moon.
The stamp sets that go along with it are called
Be one with nature and Just Breathe.
I also used a few SU sets called
Sip Sip Hooray, Happiness Abounds
and Part of my story.
The papers are from Nitwits called Pocake Masculine.
I used various inks and markers to complete the card.
Inside I made an envelope to hold his birthday money.

Craft room

Sharing my cleaned up craft room
Unfortunately I forgot to take a before photo
but believe me it was a mess.
A room full of too many tables and no where to move.

This is my desk area with computer and work space.
Above is my SU stamps and a table
for my cutting machine and sewing machine.

We got two sets of this things from IKea
which fitted perfectly into the other corner of my room
I kept the lower box which houses my
other stamp sets, ribbons etc.

My printer sits on top of this one along
with my printing papers/card and some mini
drawers full of embellishments.

I have a large sliding wardrobe to the left of the room
which was my daughter's when she lived at home.
So I plonked my two wooden drawer sets in front,
still leaving room to get anything from inside
the wardrobe.
These also hold my a4 and mini cutters.

So I am very happy with my new space.
Feels so light and airy and much easier to keep tidy.
I did have to make myself a paper plan of
what I have in each holder though
as I would have spent the day pulling them out lol.

Needle felted figure with box

Happy Monday!
I'm sharing a needle felted lookalike figure and box
I made for my son Milo's 40th last year.
I did do a video of the box but stupidly didn't have
my sound turned on lol but the measurements
are all there and you can watch what I did
if you need a bigger box.

This one is about 7" tall, 5" wide and 3" deep.
I added an acetate window so you could
see the figure inside.

Not a bad likeness for a beginner!

He has a right wee tan on him lol.
This was the only skin colour I had enough of.
This is what he wears while working and he uses
his phone and laptop to do car mapping etc.
I even added his business logo to his jumper
and knit him a beanie which he always wears.

You can watch the video if you need a big box here

Double Post

Our July challenge has started at
and this month the theme is
summer blooms!

Our prize this month is just amazing
so be sure and get your entries in!

I have actually used one of these sets for my card today
called Sent with Love by AALL & Create.

I decided to go with a twisted card shape and made
a gift card pocket and card combined.
You can see the tutorial I used here.

My background paper is from We R Memory Keepers
and I started with that for my front and insides.
I stamped the script directly onto my paper
then stamped, coloured and cut the roses and leaves
and 3d onto my card.
The flowers were coloured with markers.

I stamped the smaller rose then cut and coloured it
and added to the inside.
The sentiment is from a set called Country Birdhouse (SU).

Our July challenge has also started over at
WE LOVE STAMPING
and the theme this time is
Sea and Sand!

We have a gorgeous prize up for grabs
so come and join us!!

As I had this card shape in my brain I decided to do one
for this challenge as well.

The papers are from We R Memory Keepers.
Again I used one sheet, flipping the paper to combine
the two designs.
I stamped the relaxing man (A Good Man SU), onto a piece of linen
texture card, inking the sky, sea and sand.
I stamped the man again and cut and coloured him
and layered on top.
Using another stamp set (Fun in the Sun WOJ), I added the crab and
sunshine.
On the left I made a sign post and added
my two sentiments.

Inside I stamped the sand castle from Fun in the Sun set
onto a die cut circle and coloured it in with markers.

It's all about the cake!

I had to make a card for a friend's Great Granddaughter
who is turning one this month.
I went with a lovely image from Mo's Digital Pencil
called Kai is one.
She has been coloured up with markers.
My papers are all from a Nitwits download called
babys firsts girl.
I used the same pack to make the embellishments,
printing a few times and layering up.
I finished it off with a nice sparkly ribbon.

Tag-along July

I can't believe it is July already!!
Of course that means it's time for a new theme
over at
This time the theme has been chosen by Brenda
and she has gone with 'in the garden'.

For my tag I choose a nice yellow for my base then cut my
white smaller and started with a cloudy sky and some
grass and flowers stamped along the bottom.
I stamped the dragonfly onto the card
then stamped again and cut and coloured the wings
and 3d them on top.
The sentiment was stamped and added
to my tag and I finished it off with some ribbons.

I would like to enter my tag into

I decided to use the same stamp set for my ATC.
Again stencilling the clouds and then
stamped the grass and flowers along the bottom.
I then stamped some parts of the dragonfly,
coloured the wings in yellow
and then over stamped with some text.
I finished with the sentiment matted in black.
