Handmade flowers and embellishments

It's the second week of my theme books/book pages over at

This week I made some flowers using the dictionary.
I inked up a sheet of dictionary using granny apple green ink
and punched out the leaves.
I made a larger layered butterfly using the pages and some
plain white card. I finished it with some gems.
The background of my tag has been inked up then I added
some greenery stamps from Enjoy Life stamp set (SU).
The sentiment, from the same set, has been
stamped in the centre.
I arranged everything around the sentiment to finish.

I hope you get time to join in this week!!
I have been pretty busy at home, decorating, baby minding,
helping out the family in general and trying to keep up
with card orders so have had less time to spend on my blog.
But I will rectify that very soon!!
Thanks for sticking by me.

Page turner!

It's my turn to choose the theme over at
and I want to see you include books or book pages this fortnight.

For my tag I have used a very old dictionary belonging to my late Mum.
I decided to use it rather than hold on to something
I know my kids will throw out when I'm gone lol.

I cut the tag shape out then stamped the flower from
Penny Black - sunbursts.
I didn't use ink but did use some watercolour markers to
add colour to the stamp, then filled the image in where I wanted
extra colour.
The butterflies have been punched and layered up using the
double butterfly punch from SU.
It has been layered onto some garden green card (SU)
and finished with some ribbon and a sentiment strip
from Hunkydory.

Coming up roses!

It's the second week of Wendy's theme ROSES over at

This time I used an image of a rose and added the lovely
quote which I had stored in my quote file for years.
I also had some stripes of vellum left over from some
wedding invitations I had been working on,
so decided to put it to use.
Don't you just hate waste!!
So I put the stripe through my printer and printed off
the word roses in red and then ripped the edges and wrapped
them around my tag.
The edges had been distressed with my scissors and I
then mounted onto my black tag base
and finished off with a satin bow.

I hope you get time to share some roses with us.

Coming up roses!

Our new challenge theme over at
has been chosen by Wendy and she wants to see ROSES!

For my tag I have used a Lisa Horton set of
stencils, stamps and die cut.
The colours I used are poppy parade, garden green and misty moonlight (SU).
I added some blue around my rose, mounted onto some
garden green card and finished with some cord.
The sentiment is from the same set, inked and then
mounted onto some garden green card.

September -Feminine

Our new challenge theme over at
Make it Feminine!

We have a lovely prize up for grabs from
Stamp Addicts is a family run business based in Bedfordshire and have been in business since 1992. We have watched the popularity of rubber stamping and all papercrafts steadily increase over time and now manufacture our own branded rubber stamps which frequently feature on Hochanda TV as well as exhibiting at craft shows across the UK.

For my card I dug out an old stamp set from Woodware called
Bubble Bloom. I stamped the flower, coloured it in
and then filled the flower with card candi and gems.
The butterfly stamp is from a set from Paper Artsy called
Tops and Tails 3. The butterfly has been colours cut and layered.
I added an embossed line around the edge of the flower image.
The sentiment has been stamped and punched out using my
oval punch (SU).
The background paper is from Oh So Ombre from Stampin' Up.

I hope you can come and join us this month!
