Mermaids!

Our new theme over at
has been chosen by the lovely Michele
and she wants to see MERMAIDS.

I do not have a mermaid stamp unfortunately so lifted
this skeleton mermaid from PNG Wing.
I inked up some card using blues, greens and pinks.
I fed the card through my printer so I could get the
mermaid where I wanted it.
Then I cut the tag shape, inked the edges and
stamped some spots in navy here and there.
I stamped the sentiment and chopped it up.
Inked it with some blue and navy on the edges
and stuck in place.
I stapled some velvet ribbon to finish.

Basket of blooms

Happy Monday!
I am feeling fully recovered FINALLY,
and now back to enjoying some crafty play.

For this card I have used the stamp set
BASKET OF BLOOMS
which is the prize at my challenge over on Facebook
Feel free to come over and join in.
The theme is anything goes!

For this card I followed a sketch from
The base of the card is night of navy.
The strips of paper are scraps from the in-colour papers
and the frame has been cut using Countryside Corners dies.
I used the in colour ink pads to stamp the flowers.
They were finished with some gems.

It's in the detail darlings!

As some of you know from my Facebook post,
I have finally retired from making personalised cards.
I have been doing it for just over 25 years now and did attempt
to retire when I turned 60 but stupidly did cards for some friends
who happily spread the word and I was right back
where I started.
So this year has been tough keeping up with them all and I think
when I took sick I had enough time to make the decision to quit.
I have since turned away 16 different orders even though they
know I have retired🙈

So I have about a week of orders to finish then that's me
FREE AS A BIRD.
I intend to spend more time on my Stampin' Up! and just
enjoying my crafty time with no pressure!

So today I have another card I made for my
VIP Group.
It uses a few scraps but is mostly CAS.
I have used a new bundle called Darling Details.

Hot colours tag 2

It's the second week of my
HOT COLOURS theme over at

For this tag I used my inks and a wet broad brush
to create watercolour stripes in red and yellow.
I used artistically inked stamp set for the tag.
The flowers was stamped in poppy parade and the leaves
in daffodil delight. I layered it up in the centre of the tag
and added a sentiment.
It was finished with a punched out bow and a brad.

Hope you find some time to join in this week.

I am finally seeing some light at the end of the tunnel.
Energy levels are picking up and I have been able to go out
for some short walks.
Hopefully back to normal service soon lol.
Why does everything take so much longer to improve
when we get older!!

Summer flowers!

Our new challenge for July theme over at
anything stamped with the option of summer flowers!

Of course, as always, there are some fabulous prizes so worth
getting your stamped projects in!

Two prizes, £25 store voucher from Crafty Individuals and
two dies from Highlight Crafts

So I went with the theme and made some summer flowers
using a stamp set Artistically Inked which used to scare
but is now my favourite!
I used some ink blending brushes to create a background on
the flat of my card. Having stamped out lots of flowers, hand
cut round them and laid them out so I would know where I
needed to blend in the background.
I then stamped some leaves flat onto the card as well
and stamped and cut some out for added extras.
The flowers were stuck in place I then decided it needed
some little flowers and dots stamped here and there.
I finished with a stamped sentiment placed across the front
and some little gems.

I hope you get time to join us this month!!
