Birthday bubbles!

I thought it was time to make a card suitable for a male.
I have been neglecting them lol.

For this card I went with a DL shaped card and got my
and
The dsp I used are called
Along with some Whisper White card stock
I don't have the call me clover ink pad which matches the paper
so had to substitute which I am not happy about.
After all I joined Stampin' Up! just so I could get everything coordinating.
So it's on my wish list for my September order!

I have since added a greeting and name to the card
on the top and bottom spaces.

(in case you don't recognise my name lol)

I am very excited to be part of the super Pootlers  group of crafters!

Today we are showcasing items from the newly released Autumn/Winter Catalogue!!
Be sure and pop round all the blogs for lots of inspiration.

For my card today I have used the cute stamp set called
SPIRITED SNOWMEN
I am a sucker for snowmen cards and these ones are exceptionally cute!
The papers are from Under the Mistletoe, another favourite with me this year.
I have teamed it up with old olive card and real red card.
The snowman was coloured using Stampin' Write Markers and Stampin' Blends.
He was then given a good dollop of  sparkle using my Wink of Stella clear pen.

Blessed Christmas wishes

I had a special Christmas card request with a religious theme.
I have two sets I always turn to called
and
His Light
Both these sets are invaluable. They contain the most beautiful sentiments
which perfectly capture a religious feel.

I started with a base of Under the Mistletoe dsp.
I cut a large oval shape and then created a background scene
on some watercolour card using real red ink pad and water.
I flipped the paintbrush to create some white stars.
I then stamped the town scene from Night in Bethlehem
in black memento, repeat stamping without inking to add layers.
I stamped the figures in memento and cut them out.
After placing the scene behind the dsp I add a white oval layer.
I stamped the figures directly on top of these layers as it's very hard
to cut round some of the smaller pieces, like the staff and reins.
So when I cut out the individual figures I could raise them up to covering the flat stamping.
I added a white base which I had embossed using
and wrapped some red ribbon around it before sticking to card.
The sentiment was stamped in real red and added over ribbon using dimensionals.
The top sentiment was stamped in real red as well and I then rounded the corners off.
I added the recipients names via the computer.
The final piece was the star, stamped in pineapple punch and glittered

I really enjoyed making this one.

Baby gift box

My Thursday Tutorial is this cute little square baby gift box!
I saw a much larger box being made on my lovely friend Darlene's blog
(Dar's crafty Creations)
and as soon as I saw it I knew what I wanted to make using the same design.
I think this is so cute for a baby gift card or a personalised bib or little bracelet etc,
and it would be really easy to add the baby's name on the inside
along with date of birth and weight.

You can watch the video below.

Christmas Tag 3

I have another tag idea which will fit the pre made box from one of my YouTube tutorials.
This time I white embossed the little snowflakes from
Spirited Snowmen Stamp set
WHICH YOU CAN BUY TODAY!
I then used Bermuda Bay ink and some glycerine and sponged over the embossing.
I stamped the little snowman but only used part of him.
I did some water colouring to add depth and colour
using watercolour pencils and a blender pen.
The ribbon I used is called mini ruffled ribbon in powder pink!
The sentiment was stamped and then added with dimensionals.
Of course my trusty scallop tag topper punch gave me the perfect tag shape.
The base card was Whisper White.

Puppy Love!

Happy Monday!
My first card of the week is this cute little dog stamp called
I stamped him at jaunty angles just for fun and really liked the end result.
He has been stamped using Memento
and just for a change I got out my water colour pencils and blender pen
and gave them all some shading.
I used some glycerine and pool party ink spot for my sky colour
using a hand made cloud template.
When I stamped the sentiment I split it up so I could pop a bit on each picture.
The name has been added using Make a Difference stamp set.
It was all stamped on Very Vanilla card stock and matted onto

Get well bouquet!

I had a get well card request and this is what I came up with.
I love the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and framelits.
You can have so much fun layering them and using varied colour combinations.
And a bouquet of flowers is always well received, either for real or in paper!

So for my card I started out with embossing my base card with the fabulous
Pinewood Planks (I LOVE this embossing folder)
I then made a framed layer in So Saffron card and whisper white,
layered over a little doily,
and stamped my sentiment in Daffodil Delight.
I stamped lots of different flowers in different colours
and used my framelit set to cut them all, including the stems and some leaves.
Then I just had fun putting them all together with dimensionals
and finished with a linen bow.
